Meet Gunner, a 2-year-old sweetheart who proves every day that love conquers all. Despite facing challenges that would break many spirits, this amazing boy greets each morning with a wagging tail and endless affection for everyone he meets.
Gunner lives with epilepsy, a condition that requires daily medication and regular vet visits to monitor his health. His seizures are managed with pills that keep him stable, but this means frequent blood tests to check drug levels and protect his liver function. Each appointment is crucial to keeping our brave boy healthy and happy.
Recently, Gunner has been facing new challenges. He's lost sight in his left eye, and his right eye is now struggling too, causing him discomfort throughout the day. The world may be getting dimmer for Gunner, but his spirit shines brighter than ever.
On top of his epilepsy, Gunner battles severe skin allergies (atopic dermatitis) that make him uncomfortable. His vet has recommended fish oils to help soothe his sensitive skin. Adding to his dietary challenges, Gunner is severely allergic to chicken and must avoid it completely. He also needs to start on a special diet to help manage his overall health, which means carefully selected foods that won't trigger his allergies or interfere with his medications.
Gunner also desperately needs to be neutered, which has become increasingly difficult for him to handle.
But here's what makes Gunner extraordinary: despite everything he faces, he absolutely loves his walks and runs, playing with mom and dad, and romping in the snow. He's obsessed with his balls and will bring them right to your lap, dropping them there until you give in and play with him. The moment he spots a football, his excitement is contagious. Gunner is also quite the talker - he's always trying to tell us stories and share what's on his mind. He loves playing with his sisters and remains the most well-behaved, loving companion you could imagine. His gentle nature, playful spirit, and resilience inspire everyone who meets him.
