🚨 WILDFIRE UPDATE | FORT FRANCES

Ontario Forest Fires has released updated mapping for two major wildland fires in the Fort Frances fire management area.

🔥 Fort Frances 14: 18,101.8 hectares
🔥 Fort Frances 15: 11,960.9 hectares

An Incident Management Team (IMT) is also being deployed to support ongoing firefighting operations across the region.

Officials say the updated figures reflect more accurate fire perimeter mapping and do not necessarily indicate recent fire growth.

FORT FRANCES, Ontario – Scheduled passenger air service resumes on July 6, 2026, with North Star Air set to launch a new regional route between Fort Frances and Thunder Bay.

The Fort Frances to Thunder Bay flight gives residents a direct air link to one of Northwestern Ontario’s main service centres. The route will support medical travel, business trips, school travel, family visits, tourism and connecting flights.
