✨ Today’s Journal – June 12, 2026

Today I found myself thinking about the question someone asked me:“Maricris, what do you want to do in the future?”

I’ve asked myself that same question many times. And the truth is… I want to experience life fully. I want to explore, learn, and understand what it feels like to grow into the person I’m meant to be.

The last five years have changed me. It feels like my real life began at 31. My dreams turned into goals, and those goals became my motivation. With discipline, intention, and purpose, I’ve learned that being alone is not something to fear. Solitude has become a place where I reset, reflect, and reconnect with myself and with God.

I’m grateful for my life in the Philippines and for everyone who has been part of my journey — family, friends, and even those I had to leave behind. I finally understand the meaning of “We only live once, so make the most of it.”It’s not about material things or comfort. It’s about how I use my time — the time I give to the people I love, the time I invest in myself, and the time I dedicate to what God has already provided.

I also realized that socializing, like anything else, can become a habit or even an addiction — just like drinking, smoking, or spending. Balance is important. Taking care of myself means knowing when to disconnect, when to rest, and when to reset.

I’m learning that focusing on what’s wrong doesn’t solve anything. Focusing on solutions does. My faith keeps me grounded, and because of that, I never feel alone.

People often seek approval, but when we depend on it, we become trapped — in relationships, friendships, work, even in the things we love. That’s when growth stops. To grow, I have to accept that I may lose people along the way. Growth is about discovering who I am and what I’m capable of. I can’t let fear block my path.

There is so much I can do when I allow myself to disconnect, learn new skills, gain knowledge, and embrace new experiences. Consistency is the key. I believe I will succeed.

Tonight, I feel grateful — for what I have, for what I’ve learned, and for the waves of life that continue to shape me. We are all different, and that’s okay. That’s what makes each journey meaningful.
