This one actually comes with a trigger warning: pregnancy and infant loss...
The other day I decided to go to my local coffee spot and crochet...for 4 hours... I am so humbled by that experience.
I had many small conversations with individuals asking me what I was making or commenting on how "fast" I was crocheting lol. But there was one conversation I will forever hold dear to my heart...
A sweet lady had just got off work and decided to strike up an hour long conversation with me, asking me about my crochet. She's new to the province and when I was showing her pictures of my work, she stopped me at the butterfly keychains. Not for the reason I thought. People usually ask me to make them with their favourite colour(s), not as memorials.. I personally have never had gone through pregnancy loss myself but I have many close to my heart that have.
Being asked to make this keychain made me feel honoured to be part of her journey and I can't wait to give it to her the next time I see her. My hope is that she sees it as a symbol of love and hope, as well as a reminder of how incredibly strong she is.
