Halifax Regional Police is advising citizens, particularly in the Dartmouth area, that Douglas Worth, 73, a federally designated high-risk offender, is now residing in the community.
Worth has a long and violent criminal history dating back to 1968, including convictions for r**e, break and enter, motor vehicle theft, and prison breaches. Most notably, he is serving a life sentence for the brutal second-degree murder of 12-year-old Trina Campbell in Brampton, Ontario, in 1987.
Trina, a vulnerable teen living in a group home, was abducted after school by Worth โ a convicted ra**st who had previously warned authorities of his desire to kill children with an axe.
Despite these warnings, he was released and went on to murder, dismember, and repeatedly relocate Trinaโs remains over six months. His arrest came after family members tipped off authorities, leading to a disturbing discovery: Trinaโs partially decomposed head was found in a gym bag in Worthโs vehicle.
Worth is now subject to several strict release conditions, including:
โข No contact with children or his victims,
โข No drugs or alcohol,
โข Mandatory reporting of all personal relationships.
Police stress that they will be monitoring Worth closely, but community vigilance is essential.
Stay aware, stay informed, and report any concerning activity to Halifax Regional Police.
