I was about to get a reel out on Sunday, but I learned a lesson from my failed attempts. You can't make any of these on the fly. They need to be set up like any other production I have done in the past. But I will get one out. I promise.

As busy as I have been lately, I took some time to reflect on the passing of Jeffrey Mann. I remember the interview I did with him in one of the last live shows I did. It was nice to have met him and to have got to know one of the people who helped keep the craft going in the Western US. He helped ensure that the pipe band community in North America were speaking with one voice as a president of the ANAPBA.

While it's nice to see leaders visibly prominent in the community, sometimes it's the people you don't see, working behind the scenes, taking away the needless stress in our pipe band lives. We may not see them, but we are no less thankful for people like Jeff.

He will be missed by all of us.

I was honoured once again to address the haggis at the Powerhouse in Stoney Creek, at the Burns dinner on a snowy Sunday evening. I performed the poetry and my son Andrew entertained our guests with his bagpipes.
