Modern Muslim marriages are stuck between two extremes: “He must provide everything” vs. “She shouldn’t expect anything.” But what if the real issue isn’t money at all, it's how we see each other? Too many singles treat marriage like a financial contract instead of a partnership rooted in trust, effort, and sincerity. In this video, we unpack the silent fears shaping today’s expectations and why so many couples feel judged before the marriage even begins. If you’ve ever wondered whether your standards empower you or limit you, this conversation will challenge you in the best way.

Do you think our generation is more demanding or just more fearful? Share your thoughts below.

Workshop Alert 🚨
Saturday, December 20 EST

Real talk… marriage shouldn’t feel like a full-time job 😅 But somehow we’re all out here swiping, meeting people, making dua, doing “the work”… and still wondering why it’s not clicking.

Most of us are held back by expectations we didn’t even choose: cultural noise, auntie advice, Instagram standards, old trauma, “requirements” we inherited without noticing.

So we’re hosting a 1-hour workshop to expose the myths that are quietly messing up your search:
💥 Compatibility means checking all my boxes
💥 Religion is enough
💥 There’s only ONE soulmate
💥 Chemistry = compatibility

…you get the idea.

It’s interactive, honest, sometimes uncomfortable, but in a fun way. Polls, stories, myth-busting.. the good stuff.

We’ve seen every pattern, every myth, every bit of self-sabotage in the book… and we’re putting it all on the table.

If you’re a single Muslim tired of the confusion, the noise, the apps, the mixed messages.. this one’s for you.

Let’s be real… a lot of single Muslims are dealing with this in silence. 👀 Not because they don’t know better, but because loneliness + curiosity + zero safe spaces = a messy combo. And when people start asking “Isn’t p**n better than falling into zina?”… you can tell there’s a deeper struggle going on.

That’s exactly why this conversation with Dr. Fahad Khan hit so hard. No shaming, no judgement, just raw honesty about how these habits quietly shape our choices and relationships. 🙏

Big thank you to for keeping it real with us.

Sometimes, it’s not commitment issues. It’s your nervous system trying to protect you. 💭 For many single Muslims, the search for a spouse isn’t just about compatibility, it’s about emotional safety. Here’s the hard truth: a lot of the struggles single Muslims face in marriage today didn’t start in marriage, they started at home. 🏠 When we raise daughters without resilience or sons without responsibility, we’re setting them up to carry those gaps straight into their relationships.

Parents, this one’s on us too. Protecting kids from every hardship might feel like love, but it can quietly create entitlement, dependency, or imbalance that a spouse will one day have to deal with. And for singles, it’s never too late to unlearn and rebuild.

That’s exactly why we had join us on this episode of Diary of a Matchmaker to unpack how masculinity, maturity, and family expectations collide. 🙌

Every generation loves to say, “we had it harder.” But let’s be real, our baggage just looks different. ✈️ We may not have crossed oceans to build masajid, but we’re carrying cultural confusion, toxic masculinity, unrealistic expectations, and a whole lot of relationship drama. Different luggage, same weight.

If we don’t face our baggage, we end up unpacking it all over our marriages. That’s exactly why we started this podcast 18 months ago.
Thank you for helping us unpack these bags together. 🧳💬
