🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨
Well, it was just a matter of time before another sanctioning axe throwing organization decided to adopt Knife Throwing.

After reviewing the page, I assume this is going to be a beta test for the long run.

Curious to see what the future holds for the west's two long standing (predominantly focused) knife throwing organizations International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame- ikthof and Blade Aces Precision Action Sports.

Please, respectfully, share your thoughts in the comments below:

The IATF is excited to announce the addition of KNIFE THROWING LEAGUES to our expanding roster of throwing disciplines.

The IATF is honoured to join organizations like the International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame, World Knife Throwing League, American Knife Throwers Association, and more to offer competitive knife throwing but with our own spin on the sport. These organizations have all contributed in their own way to the growth of the sport over the years and we look forward to making our own contribution.

The IATF Knife rules are based on the classic IATF hatchet throwing rules, modified for the difference in throwing style and difficulty. They were created in collaboration and consultation with IATF member venues and experienced knife throwers from different backgrounds. The rules maintain the IATF’s commitment to head-to-head competition and add an exciting element of stacking multiple blades in the target at once.

Read more about the IATF Knife Throwing Rules here: https://internationalaxethrowingfederation.com/introducing-iatf-knife-throwing/

Thank you to the IATF members, throwers, and greater knife throwing community members who beta-tested, read, and provided feedback throughout this process. We’ve designed a really fun game, with your help and can’t wait to see people playing it across the Federation!

DangerFest2023 # Sunday September 17, 2023, wraps up its final day with the last two events that put the most strain on equipment and the body – Long Distance Tomahavvk and Long Distance Kn!fe.
Premise of this challenge is to throw overhand your Tomahavvk and Kn!fe at a set distance that you choose, somewhere beyond the 7 meter line. No matter where you stand, with three chances, the blade must stick within the designated target area. There is some form of strategy to everything, and in this event, there is no exception. You may inch a few steps back from where that last successful thrower landed their tomahavvk and kn!fe, or assert dominance by walking back to the next postal code and chucking your ever living day-lights out, only hoping no-one bests you, IF you stick it! Tomahavvwks, you may throw with the blade facing or back, and for long distance kn!ves, either handle or blade.

Many thanks to John Grabowski for his measuring ‘magic stick,’ and Amy Elliott for keeping vigil documenting everyone’s last throws of the event!

DangerFest2023 # has a unique event, that is my absolute favorite; “The Instinctive Course Challenge.”
This version was designed by Louis from Prince Steel Knives, with TEN different stations, varying in difficulty and bonus points, it had the participant throwing at various targets, at certain heights and distances with restriction set to where you can stand.

This challenge requires one to adopt a different unconventional style of throwing to circumvent certain obstructions in the way of the target flight path. There are no visible integers of measurement, so how far or close you feel the target is relative to your conventional throwing is your only advantage if you plan on sticking to one style of throwing.

An added layer of difficulty; knives to be used could not be your own, but what were supplied by Prince Steel Knives! Cory Randall demonstrates his run in this uncut/unedited video.

The award show recognizes achievements held on Day 1 [Amateur + Pro Conventional No-Spin & Fast Draw open class & no-spin] and Day 2 [Amateur +Conventional Pro Rotational Knife and Tomahawk].

The rule set for DangerFest conventional follows the IKTHOF (International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame) standard of TWO divisions, Amateur and Professional. The rationale behind these two different groups is based on experience and points acquired during the event based on throwing requirements set for each group.
Amateurs and Pros both from FIVE distances, 3 knives, 3 targets per distance (one knife per target which has a 5 point system for each) for four rounds. A perfect score (something no one has ever achieved is 300) In order for an Amateur to graduate to the Professional level, they would have to score 200 points or better. The difference between the two groups are the 5 distances; Amateurs Conventional Knife; throw from 2 meter, 3 meter, 4 meter, 5 meter & 6 meter. Professionals throw from 3 meter, 4 meter, 5 meter, 6 meter and 7 meter. Anyone in either group can achieve a Master Score level of 250 or more which is an incredible accomplishment.

This year:
EIGHT Amateur Rotational Knife Throwers scored above 200 points!
TWO Professional Rotational Knife Throwers achieved Master Scores!

TWENTY-FOUR Awards and Certificates + ONE Thrower of the Year Award

Every participant was able to receive a prize item from the table which boasts of thousands of dollars worth of blade craft and art donated by sponsors and artisans from all over the world!

At a registered 137 participants, I'm going to guess DangerFest 2024 was the largest throw in the country, if not the world this year!

Thank you to Mark Dillon from #1 Stop Bait & Tackle, LLC: 3522 N State Road 13 Pierceton, in 46562 for allowing this incredible event to have a location.

Thank you Brandon Danger Dillon and Alisha for giving me, yet another opportunity to design and brand the event, it's truly an honour.

Thank you to all the sponsors listed and unlisted, the donations for the prize table, the volunteers, specifically Amy Elliott, Jamie Wiersma for the scoring booth / range Mastery, Savage Thrower for hooking us up with the morning show. The people who helped with the set-up and and tear down, and ESPECIALLY all the participants and spectators.

Looking forward to next year....

(more photos and videos on the way, this is the first of many to be uploaded)...
