Today marks one year since my very first children’s book came out — Princess Melly and the Garden of Kindness.
What started as something I created for my wife, inspired by her incredible kindness and the person she is, quickly became something much bigger than I ever imagined. I wanted to create a story for her and for our children — something they could hold onto and remember.
Then, unexpectedly… people wanted to buy it.
One book turned into two, then three, and now I have four books, with a fifth on the way, and more than 650 books sold.
When I look back at where this all started, I honestly never could have imagined that a little idea inspired by the people I love would take me this far.
This journey has been absolutely beautiful. Every book sold, every child who has read one of my stories, every message from someone who connected with my characters — it all means more to me than I can put into words.
So today, I’m celebrating not just a book, but the beginning of a journey I never knew I was about to take.

Here’s to the stories still waiting to be told, the little hearts still waiting to be reached, and wherever this adventure takes me next.

What an absolutely beautiful day ❤️ two wonderful friends surprised me during my long hard day at work . R. Janet Walraven, Author is sending my children one of her books so we can read it to our new rescue kitten, Tucker. & Buck & Benny Adventures mom went out of her way on her family cruise vacation to visit The Write Cup Bookstore Cafe & take a peek/support me. Give them a follow everyone , you won't be disappointed in these wonderful supportive children authors .

Stopped at The Write Cup at Market Square in Uptown Saint John today and had to check out Allan Johnson’s amazing books! 📚❤️

I’m so happy I stopped in! What a wonderful little spot, and it was so much fun getting to see Allan’s books in person. Of course, I couldn’t resist picking up a few! 😊
