11 years ago, we had one of the scariest days of our lifes. A freak accident that no one could have ever anticipated happened.

Thankfully, our friends son survived and has very little memory of what happened ( the human mind is seriously a thing of magic) -

Without the help of our local Big Horn helicopters and STARS Ambulance I don’t think it would have ended as great as it did.
We’re so fortunate to have these resources living where we do.

Every year we buy the stars calendars, band aids , shirts, hats you name it AND every year the same guy who’s always set at the table sees me cry. Every single time!!! We joke that he sees me coming and gets the Kleenex out.

Yesterday it was someone new - and I bought my bandaids and realized that I wasn’t crying.
So I naturally started telling the women that I “always cry to the poor man who usually does the table” - she said he’s retired now, but that it’s okay and she’s used to seeing tears from people who stop.

But here’s the whole point of the story, she also told me - that since that gentleman retired they can’t spend as much time here on their fundraising efforts. They are covering a huge area and wanted to get to cranbrook back in December!
So please go to the cranbrook superstore and buy a calendar or bandaids or just say THANK YOU.

Whether it’s skills, work, fitness or hobbies , new anything always starts like a damn rollercoaster : it can be difficult, then exciting, back to intimidating, and exhilarating all within the same week (or day:).

It can be a challenge to step out of your comfort zone and take on a new skill, but the idea of what it can open you up to is 100 worth it!

Just remember as you progress, you’ll find yourself feeling frustrated and overwhelmed and you’ll want to quit. Only to be filled with a sense of accomplishment and pride when you finally master the task (insert fist bump here)
Now get outside and enjoy that ☀️

FYI East Kootenay folks - that warmer weather we had last week was apparently idea for fleas hatching ☹️
We found 2 on our big dog and are assuming Gunner has them too. They don’t seem to be super duper itchy, but are scratching more then normal.
This has been the first time in BC after 25+ years that I’ve ever run into them here. When I was younger and we lived in Ontario they were a normal nuisance.

I get my computer work done first thing in the am , once my house is empty for the day, because it’s when I feel most productive and have the least amount of distractions
I Netflix in the evening…but only if my top to-do list items are done for the day…I also save my laundry folding for the evening.
Because even if your watching a movie you can say “ I’m doing laundry” 🤣

Sundays are generally our slowest day of the week, which means:
☕️ Extra coffee
📺 a little extra Netflix
🍪 baking for the weeks lunches
💻 and for me specifically today diving a little deeper into my training to learn and ask questions ❤️

Welcome to Mountain Side Marketing’s new page!
Starting something new takes a bit of time AND a ton of learning. Which means sitting at a desk and staring at a screen (which I’m not a huge fan of 😉 I’d rather be outside doing ANYTHING else, hence the name.
Why the Mountain Side name??. We fly by the seat of our pants around here. I often joke that I have a “go bag” by the door at all times filled with an extra set of warm clothes and some snacks because we get up, have a coffee make our plan for the day and are usually ready and flying out the door within the hour.
(This is skill I’ve learned from my hubby;)
And it ALMOST ALWAYS involves trees and fresh air. We camp, boat, hike, bike, fish,
snowmobile, jeep…you name a hobby we probably do it.

So finding something that can move with us on the go, help earn an income now and potentially set us up for retirement sounded like a pretty great idea.
This whole thing is totally new to me , and I honestly have no idea how it will go

- BUT I was being pulled to trying it. So here I am volunteering to be your Guinea pig
