I thought I had it Figured out. I finally thought I had my focus. I was going to be a portrait photographer. Successful photographers with many years of experience in the business advised me to narrow down my skills to one type of photography and stick with it. I tried and was succeeding - until a few weeks ago when John bought me a 14mm ultra wide lens. I am now having a love affair with landscapes again. I have now come full circle and am right back where I started. Confused and trigger happy, unsure of my future in photography, and more in love than ever

The cool fall air has me feeling nostalgic this morning... I took these photos a few years back while working in the bush with my dad. It was a most memorable trip and the photos are still some of my favorites to date. Not only for their beauty but also for the special memories attached

I love this shot of Shannon and that captivating gaze of hers. Shannon and I (John) are becoming quite adept as a team, and one of our honed skills is capturing hair flips. Shannon has the tough job of wrenching her head in weird angles and then spinning it at high speeds to get her hair in motion.She then has to focus her gaze on the lens while doing an amazing pose at the same time. She makes it look more effortless than it really is. Myself, I am slowly getting better at hitting the shutter button at just the right moment. In the past it often took us numerous shots to get something. Now we can get it in one take.

John, Jemma and I went on a tiny road trip over the weekend and we finally got a chance to put to use the cape Grandma ( Bernice Sturm ) and I made a few months back. Jemma was so cute I had tears in my eyes while looking through the viewfinder on my camera
