Logline: Game night turns mind-bending when a group of five friends play 'Jackpot'. As reality blurs, a deeper truth about friendship unfolds.

Character Breakdowns:

MIA: female, 16-18 years old, stylish, well-put together, bubbly, cheerleader stereotype

RILEY: male or female, 16-18 years old, shy, awkward teenager who just wants to fit in

TAYLOR: male or female, 16-18 years old, nerdy sidekick, funny but awkward. Steve Carell type personality

ALEX: male, 16-18, the jock of the group, extravert, confident, cool

JORDAN: male or female, 16-18, the class clown, over the top at times and always making a joke of things, Jim Carrey type personality

WOMAN’s VOICE (40+): one liner, annoyed mom-type voice

*The YKA Short Film Lab is a six-week film program, culminating in the production of a short film, Jackpot, by both students and industry professionals. The finished film is intended for a small film festival release.

Bones of Crows will be out in theatres in Kamloops starting tomorrow, June 9 playing at the Cineplex Cinemas Aberdeen Mall. We have just confirmed that actors Summer Testawich and Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc band member Tyler Peters will both be present at the 6:10pm screening on June 9 and will host a short Q&A session after the film has finished.

Together this year, we have crafted a local crew that made Movies (MOW’s) fully shot in Kamloops, we’ve trained and provided opportunity to dozens of people, opened our first location as a society, and now are offering more structured training every month.

For this and many other reasons, we thank YOU, you are helping create the future of filmmaking in Kamloops and providing workshops and training.

BIG NEWS!!! Our first official workshop in January is Intro to Set with Chrissie Davies, January 21st!

Followed by a Setiquette (Set Etiquette) Workshop for those wanting to work on screen like Extras (Background) and Actors on January 22nd!

What’s in a name? Everything!

When people think about movies they often think about HollyWood, big cities or maybe Netflix in the comfort of their own home.

Kamloops is loaded with talent, beautiful landscapes and plenty of opportunities.

We are not Hollywood but would like to believe Kamloops is the next little Hollywood.

We love our city and therefore came up with the name Kammywood Casting.

There is Hollywood, Hollywood North and now Kammywood!

Kammywood Casting has just opened in Kamloops after years of assisting local productions with their casting needs.

Our first casting call is for a well known, award winning television series. All children chosen will require a parent/chaperone with them at all times and there are strict Covid protocols including testing.
