One thing I had to adjust to quickly is finding success in other bays than numbers and comments because for my entire journey, that’s all I can rely on.

I can’t know how far the ripple of a story went without people telling me.

I can’t know if a topic truly planted a seed and helped someone dig deeper without being told.

So I’ve had to measure success differently with this project and looking at things like who I have met, what I have learned and who I have become and in that sense I feel overwhelmingly successful.

I’ve made amazing friends along the way and I’ll never not be grateful for that.

Grateful for my work here and even more excited to see what I can do next 🥰

The Be Real Babe Podcast is officially on PAUSE for an undetermined amount of time 🙏🏼

I get really vulnerable in this episode about the journey I’ve been on the last 5.5 years, what my guests mean to me, what my past hosts meant and what happened there, what you listeners mean to me and the difficulties I’ve faced the last 11 seasons.

Not one part of this journey has been easy. Rewarding? HELL YA BROTHERRRR but def NOT easy.

It’s been transformative, informative, boundary breaking, confronting and in ways, I hope, unifying 🤞🏼

I’m eternally grateful for this passion project but even more excited about the future.

Being the nature of this entire episode; I also share my hardest, most vulnerable topic, sisterhood.

I’ve been down many a paths trying to make sisterhood, girl groups and those connections like you see on tv my whole life and the ways I’ve been hurt there along the way, something I’ve never really talked about.

Oh and the lawyers letter that change the projectory of my mindset, and the day I started to choose me again.

It’s not that hard to understand that the rise in access to 🌽 is leading to more s*xual violence than ever before.

Growing up as millennials we’ve seen the extremely quick advancements in access with VERY LITTLE advancements in the support of this addiction or how to even cope with an over s*xualized society.

And WHAT DO YOU MEAN most teens these days are 13 years old when seeing this??

Bring back the VHS and Blockbuster I BEG.

But doesn’t matter anyways because you can open a Twitter/X account and lie about age just like we did in chat rooms and voila, 🐱 galore! 😑

& hey they’ve even gone as deep as getting into your kids games with this content and groomers go where the kids do so there’s also that!

When do the lines stop? When is proper support going to be here for this? Why we gotta wait till it’s out of control to see some support?

They use to let pregnant women think smoking ciggies was fine 🫠 how have we not gotten better at preventing addictions?!

You are an adult (and if you aren’t G**O off social media!) and you get to choose what you consume, what you do but please acknowledge when it’s tipped over to harmful behaviour.

We gotta self regulate atm babes.

There is freedom in s*xuality WITHOUT A DOUBT and then there is exploitation and danger on the other side and we really need to be aware of the ripple affect we have on the next gen here.

Coming from the era of pdf files rampant in our online group chats we gotta do better babes!!

In today’s episode I am joined again by one of my fave real babes Doomy and we dive deeper into our current over s*xualized society and what that is doing to humans.

It feels like you can’t watch a show, go on social media or just exist now without having something s*xual shoved down your throat.

Now, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being pro s*x and having a healthy, safe, consenting s*x life. It’s actually extremely good.

However, there’s a line and my babes, she done been crossedddddd.

This topic is so complex and we cannot possibly include all sides to this but from an outside perspective and as women who’ve sat back and watched the heavy progression of s*xual exploitation and come with our own experiences, we are both appalled at the level we are at now.

Shout out to Doomy for bringing the stats and the heavy impact the p**n industry is having on people but most importantly, kids.

When I was 13 I would have had to sneak into someone VHS p**n stash and have a private VCR to access what kids can open social media and see immediately.

And we have to ask, has society gotten safer? Is there less abuse? Less s*xual violence? Is there more empowerment now? Because from our lenses, it doesn’t appear to be so.

What we see, read, researched and been very open to points to things actually getting worse and more extreme.

We do not claim to know the answer or have all the insights here but we need to be real about the impact this is having on men, women and children and we have to ask is it worth it?!
