Couple of cool old pickups still active duty after 50+ years…..of course mine is ‘70 Dodge D100 and I think the old Ford is a 1964….parked beside it while at Nanaimo Home Hardware this afternoon.

Recently it seems like All I do is drive drive drive…around picking up cars and parts for myself and buddies …this ‘65 Corvair is for my buddy Russ to add to the three he has already….many parts as well…..as usual too good of a deal to pass up. You folks keep selling them and we’ll keep saving them😂.

Centrelink and tierods straightened out and amazingly almost bang on…now in shop….engine turns easily….radiator is full….and had pressure despite sitting for at least five years and I don’t know the last time it started…..going to see if battery takes a charge tonight. Master cylinder was empty in rear reservoir…no brakes right now but hopefully we can get those working without too much work. At least it’s in shop….

So recently in order to get something I really wanted (stay tuned) I had to drag this car along with the deal…1961 Pontiac Strato Chief…261 six cylinder/3-on-the-tree manual …..but the buddy I got it from mistakenly and unknown to me…hooked tow line to centrelink and by the time we got it up the ramp it was lunched…..oh well. We will have many laughs about it over the years I’m sure. Good thing is centrelink already off and straightened and likely going to use new tierods as they are relatively cheap.

The old Dodge A108 was hauling parts again Thursday…..Filled it ….again….with 1961 Chevy wagon parts for my buddy Keith….this time out of Sidney, BC….someone even took a pic of it at gas station in Duncan and sent it to another friend of mine who sent it to me. It’s got a good rake if I don’t say so myself and the Cragar SS wheels are timelessly cool. There’s two hoods and a tailgate in that pile as well as two back seats and one front bench seat and countless other parts. Great parts hauler and always surprised at how much stuff its cargo area can accommodate.

Ran a 10.82 in the final and beat the El Chubacabra Mopar AWB wagon to stripe…….but broke out on my 10.88 dial. Best run of weekend and second fastest I’ve run in car but runner up ain’t too bad when racing with the Gasser Get Down gang. Thanks to the Langley Loafers for running such an awesome event. Congrats to Chris and Pat.
