Arriving at Baie Du Doré after a 3 hour ride along the Bruce County Rail Trail at a consistent speed of 50km/h is an excellent experience, and a journey that I’ve completed several times throughout the summer. Starting from the Mildmay Wilderness Park staging area, it’s a breeze to navigate a relatively straight and smooth trail that passes by Walkerton, Paisley, Port Elgin, and Brucedale Conservation Area before ultimately reaching a scenic lookout point suitable for a lunch break.
Standing by the water while enjoying the cool breeze and letting my machine cool down has become a familiar ritual at what I would consider the halfway point of my route. Other than the occasional dog walking pedestrian, there aren’t typically a lot of other visitors around, which makes this a peaceful spot to enjoy a scenic view before heading back home.
