Exploring the Culross Tract County Forest trails and enjoying the rest stop conveniently marked on the Huronshores ATV Club map.

The beauty of this scenic pond doesn’t translate well to photos, but if you happen to be riding in the area, it makes a great spot to stop for lunch.

If you’re an avid user of the Bruce County Rail Trail but haven’t checked out these nearby forest trails yet, it’s worth venturing West a few kilometres by road to see them.

Just a quick trip down the Bruce County Rail Trail to keep me entertained until I can get back up north where the more extreme terrain is found.

I started in Mildmay and headed north to Port Elgin to visit some of my favourite spots for the first time this season, including Baie Du Doré and the well known Tim Hortons location closest to the rail trail.

Exploring the Five Points Trail System, maintained by Kawartha ATV Association, was an enjoyable experience. There were a plethora of challenging trails to keep us busy for hours, and some scenic views that made for a great spot to stop for a barbecue.

We saw plenty of Jeeps, ATVs, Side by Sides and RVs enjoying some excellent unofficial campsites scattered throughout the region’s rocky terrain. The weather cooperated and ensured we had a sunny afternoon and a clear sky to accompany our off-road activities.
