I noticed that this tutorial was not as popular as other Sungha Jung tutorials that I previously did, so I started a poll on my Youtube channel to get a better idea of which song to cover next.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, given the popularity of animé, the votes were for Kamado Tanjiro No Uta.

I spent a few days this week recording and filming both the cover and the tutorial for that arrangement. Stay tuned for that one coming up sometime next week.

Here is a fingerstyle arrangement that I made of the traditional tune "The Maids of Mourne Shore" also known as “Down by the Sally Gardens.”

This arrangement is featured in “Play Fingerstyle Guitar Now”, my new course on playing and understanding Fingerstyle guitar.

The late fingerstyle guitarist Howard Morgen uses several examples like this, taking traditional airs like Greensleeves or My Grandfather’s Clock and creating fingerstyle arrangements.

I’ve used a similar didactic technique for this arrangement.
