🍻 BAOS 10th ANNIVERSARY BREW #32 🍻

Brasserie Sir John Brewing co. have been a big fave for us for many years, so we were honoured to link up with the legends for a big (and super fun) collab for our 10th. 🍫

On our most recent podcast with the boys, we were talking about blending a smoothie sour with an imperial stout, and the idea for Ouin ben c’est ça !! was born. 🥥

We conditioned a barrel-aged imperial stout on coconut, vanilla and cacao, and blended it with a fresh smoothie sour with raspberry, blackberry, banana and pineapple coconut ice cream. Coming in at 7%, it pours like thiccc chocolate milk with a chocolatey raspberry nose, it’s big and thick with tons of cacao and berries dominating, the coconut and vanilla sit nice in the background, the banana gives it some great body, it’s decadent while remaining crushable, ending in a dry, chocolatey berry finish. Impeccable. 🍦

🍻 BAOS 10th ANNIVERSARY BREW #31 🍻

Quebec City has a phenomenal craft beer scene, so we had to connect with legends in the city Noctem Artisans Brasseurs for a 10th anniversary collab. 😻

Noctem are haze masters, so we ran with a big, fluffy Double IPA that came out so damn good. Check the label art with the kitty (“Moggie” is Aussie slang for a cat) doing the BAOS face. 🤌

Coming in at 8%, this bad boy rocks Motueka, Riwaka and NZ Cascade, it pours murky with a foamy head and a dank, citrusy nose, it’s creamy and juicy with lime, mango, and pithy grapefruit, it’s pretty dank with a touch of pine and resin, it’s big and bold with tons of orange and tangerine, it’s sticky and smooth with a dry, tropical finish. Glorious. 🇳🇿

🍻 BAOS 10th ANNIVERSARY BREW #30 🍻

If we were going to drop a gang of 10th anniversary collabs, we had to include some barrel-aged sours, and who better than the legend Rob at Short Finger Brewing Co. 🍋

We landed on a barrel-aged Golden Ale sour blend of new and aged beer, refermented on second-use hops and clementines (from their legendary collab with Barncat, “Pulp”). 🍊

Coming in at 5.8%, it’s named after the iconic slur spoken in Summer Bay (IYKYK), it pours mostly clear with an insane foamy head and a funky, citrusy nose, it’s so dry and crisp with tons of barnyard funk, pithy citrus and tropical fruit vibes, it’s tart and tangy with crazy tangerine citrusy notes, it’s chewy and oaky, complex and bold, wrapping in a dry, puckering bitter finish. Just spectacular. 🔥

🍻 BAOS 10th ANNIVERSARY BREW #29 🍻

When it comes to crispies, Guelph, ON’s Royal City Brewing make some of the best in the province, so of course we had to link up for a 10th anniversary collab. 🍺

We teamed up for a traditional German-style Schwarzbier, which is one of our fave styles so we were stoked to have this in the lineup for the collabs and the event. 🇩🇪

Coming in at 5%, it pours a deep chocolate brown with a gorgeous fluffy beige head and a roasty nose, it’s so clean and crisp with a great body, it’s dusty and grainy with some grassy bitterness and light cold brew vibes, it’s balanced and delicate yet smooth and crushable, tons of flavour and light enough to knock back, wrapping in a dry, chocolatey finish. Genuinely fire. 🔥

🍻 BAOS 10th ANNIVERSARY BREW #28 🍻

The first beer off the system at the new location for Kitchener’s Counterpoint Brewing Company was our 10th anniversary Xtra Pale Ale collab with terpenes. 💨

The legend Graeme helped us cook up a glorious XPA with Cascade, Chinook and SFV OG Kush terpenes, named after a classic Aussie exclamation of greatness. 🍁

Coming in at 4.8%, it pours a cloudy amber with a fluffy head and a dank, citrusy, grassy nose, the body is light and dusty with some toasty malt vibes alongside the intense terps that deliver herbal lemongrass and pithy grapefruit, it’s bitter and very much a WC-style XPA, the terpenes are quite intense in such a light beer but it works, it smooths out on your palate as you go, all wrapping in a dry, dank, bitter finish. Great stuff! 🇦🇺

🍻 BAOS 10th ANNIVERSARY BREW #27 🍻

We love a good English-style ale, and who better to go to for our 10th anniversary than the Ottawa lords at Flora Hall Brewing? 🇬🇧

English ales are an area where Flora really excel, and it was the perfect way to round out the menu for the GET IT IN YA!® SpecTAPular while reppin’ Nathan Does Beer’s hood. 🇨🇦

Coming in at a crushable 3.8%, this classic English Dark Mild pours a light brown with a beige, fluffy head and a chocolatey nose, the body is much bigger than the ABV suggests it should be with tons of caramel and toffee notes, it’s really smooth with just the right amount of sweetness, there’s a touch of bitterness in the back end, wrapping in a bone dry, almost nutty finish. Genuinely phenomenal. 🌰

🍻 Episode #220: Blowin' Glass with Michael Gray of Gather Brewery & Glassworks ~ Adjunct Series 🍻

Pairing craft beer with craft glassblowing is a unique combination, and that's exactly how Merrickville, ON's Gather is making a name for themselves. Co-Founder Mike Gray joined Cee to chat about the story of going from a glassblowing establishment to a craft beer bar to a craft brewery, how Gather has become a real pillar of their community with a full restaurant and regular events, how their brewing started from contracting to brewing their own stuff in-house, why they always need to keep their Amber Ale on, the help they received from the craft beer community, the killer collabs they've done so far, how they're improving their haze game, the canning line that will up their output, their incredibly popular glass and beer workshops, their mug and wine clubs, and their upcoming collab with Third Moon Brewing. They got into six killer Gather brews: A Brewer Is Never Late NZ Pilsner, Dunkel Bernstein Munich Dunkel, Glass Blowers Assistant Vol. 3 Hazy Pale Ale, Over Blown Double IPA, Canadian Ale, and Caramel Stout. This was fascinating - cheers! 🍺

🍻 BAOS 10th ANNIVERSARY BREW #26 🍻

The first ever canned QC collab we did was ar classic lactose sour with Simon of L'Espace Public - Brasseurs de quartier, and we had to get a fresh one in for our 10th anniversary. 🍊

We pitched Simmo a twist on our Bière de Vacances series, which would be one of three beers from the anniversary drops that paid tribute to Cee’s fave Australian sweet treat. 🇦🇺

Coming in at 4%, this lactose sour was intended to mimic the classic Aussie dessert, the pavlova, with kiwi, strawberry, blueberry, passionfruit, lactose and vanilla. It pours an opaque bright pink with a foamy head and a pav-berry nose, it’s juicy with minimal sweetness, it’s so crushable that it’s dangerous, the tangy vibes from the kiwi and passionfruit hit hard while the strawberry and blueberry really hold it down, wrapping in a dusty, berry, tart finish. Marvellous. 🥝

🍻 BAOS 10th ANNIVERSARY BREW #25 🍻

We connected with the legends from Microbrasserie 4 Origines shortly after they opened back in 2018, so you already know we had to link for our first collab with the team for our 10th anniversary. 🎙️

4 Origines excel at a lot of styles, but we particularly love their crispies, so we came up with a delightful West Coast Pilsner that rocks Centennial, Cascade, Chinook and local Quebec Mackinac hops. 🌲

Coming in at 5%, it pours cloudy with a wicked fluffy head and a bready nose, it’s crisp and creamy with some pithy bitterness, light grassy and herbal vibes and some citrus notes, it’s balanced and fruity with a great malt profile, it’s incredibly smooth and dusty, highly crushable and fragrant with a dry, bitter, malty finish. Banger. Shout out to for the incredible name, too! ☀️

🍻 BAOS 10th ANNIVERSARY BREW #24 🍻

Coffee and beer are two of the greatest beverages known to humankind, so we were stoked to connect with the forever homies Kahnawake Brewing Company to make a 10th anniversary coffee and beer mashup. ☕️

Featuring our coffee bean collaboration with Found Coffee Guelph, Beans & Bickies is a big and boozy stout that perfectly blends the fruity espresso with the roasty malt vibes. 🙏

Coming in at 9%, it pours jet black with a massive coffee nose, it’s creamy and smooth while remaining light enough in the body so it’s very drinkable, you can taste the blueberry notes from the coffee (the beans are straight berries, it’s crazy), it’s balanced and smooth, bitter cold brew vibes, wrapping in a dry, chocolatey coffee finish. Amazing. 🔥 Some of this footage features our collab for Kahnawake’s 7th anniversary, “Reduced To Mire” with Nathan Does Beer, Vox&Hops Metal Podcast and Beerism.

🍻 BAOS 10th ANNIVERSARY BREW #23 🍻

When it came to mapping out the menu for our 10th anniversary GET IT IN YA® SpecTAPular beer festival, we needed some smoothies - and who better than the unquestionable lords of fruit juice sours, Mortalis Brewing Company! 🍓

We pitched a pavlova concept (a famous Aussie dessert) to a few breweries for our collabs, and Mortalis truly delivered in the smoothie format. 🍰

This 7% banger rocks strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, passionfruit, kiwi, vanilla and toasted marshmallow and it’s legit glorious. It pours like cherry/blueberry juice with minimal head and a pavlova nose, it’s thick and juicy with all of the berry vibes, the vanilla and marshmallow really shine through which works perfectly for the base of the dessert, it’s so big and bold with every element of the pav shining through, wrapping in a sticky, decadent finish. Impeccable, one of the best smoothie sours I’ve ever had. Huge thanks to Jared for making it happen! 🥝

🍻 Episode #219: New Age Vintage with Frédéric Pelletier + John Marcel Tremblay of Herman Brasserie Artisanale ~ Adjunct Series 🍻

Building hype for a new brewery project is one of the most difficult tasks in the game, but the champs behind Herman made it happen. Nestled in the Laurentians in Prévost, QC, Herman has cemented itself as a leading purveyor of crispies (primarily), haze, sours and farmhouse in the province. Co-Founders Fréd and John joined Cee to chat about their origin story, why they keep making gorgeous farmhouse ales in bottles, the labour split between the partners and why that works, their love of coffee, their approach to their beer, how they handle collaborations and why collabs helped put them on the map, their Ontario collabs, why they stick to short cans, their "new age vintage" brand and labels, where the name came from, and why they want to collab with Drake. They got into five killer Herman brews - Echo Lite Light Lager, Spund Kellerbier, Severni Světlý Ležák 12°, Pia IPA Néo-Zélandaise, and Periaca barrel-aged Farmhouse Ale with peaches and apricots. This was a gem - cheers! ⚜️
