SOCIAL CATERPILLAR premiere of their final material as a band which releases May 2nd on 12" as a split with friends WAUNBAND. So sad to see them go :( Softseed will have copies and digitals up on May 8th as I'll be out of the country until then with no access to this stuff.

I recorded this podcast with AVERY FRIEDMAN a month ago but it was just released this week. Please give it a go, I found out about some very cool new artists from this conversation. Things discussed: 4th grade choir and Celine Dion, life-altering concerts on shrooms, being robbed at knifepoint, cheese factor fears, yoga classes with Eartheater, Ciao Malz and Audio Anti-Hero props, labels falling through, May 15th record release show, twangin' that s**t up, etc. Bands played in this podcast: Beabadoobee, Biig Piig, Eartheater, Perfume Genius, Smush, and Squirrel Flower.

New Thing, the scarily accomplished debut album from Avery Friedman, inhabits a complex emotional realm where nervousness can coexist with (and inform) ideas of sexiness, sadness, tenderness. Her world is fragile but appears to have arrived fully-formed.

I am so stoked on this record, and you should be too if you like Slow Pulp, Flower Face, Biig Piig, Frankie Cosmos, etc. Full release is April 18th with 12"s shipping late July - and include a stupid fancy variant (that means it's super nice and hella rare).
