When I first started dancing I was afraid of making a mistake and felt embarassed on the dance floor. Now as a person who has been dancing for ten + years at this point, I have never, not once, gone home and thought about the mistakes the guy beside me made.

I have never thought about my fun night out dancing and moving my body and had my brain cut to the girl who messed up the coaster step.

Don’t let the fear of making a mistake stop you from getting on the dance floor.

Everyone makes mistakes. Every single dancer you admire has messed up more times than you can count, trust me on that!!

If you’ve convinced yourself you’re not allowed to make mistakes, you’ll never give yourself the chance to improve. The only way to get better is to keep showing up. Whether that’s out somewhere or at home.

I thought, “I’ve learned this dance before, I’ve even taught it (search follow my boots green light TGIF)

I should remember it… Turns out muscle memory needs a little maintenance. I’ve barely danced this past year, so my feet just could not keep up with my brain sometimes. Add in a crowded dance floor where everyone around me is dancing a little differently, and I was struggling!!!

Time to get back out there and shake the rust off, I’m going to try to get out more often!!
