📦 Every year, Canada Post strikes right before the holidays - and it’s everyday Canadians who pay the price.

It’s not the billionaires or executives who suffer - it’s:

Small businesses that lose their busiest season

Seniors waiting on medications and pension cheques

Families who can’t send or receive gifts on time

Rural and island communities with no other delivery options

Postal workers deserve fair treatment, but so do Canadians who rely on the mail. There should be a holiday blackout period - no strikes or lockouts from November 1 to December 31.

Reliable mail isn’t a luxury. It’s essential.

đź’ˇ Did you know? Just 12 companies control over 550+ consumer brands worldwide.

From snacks to shampoo, sodas to skincare, chances are most of what we buy belongs to one of these giants: Nestlé, PepsiCo, Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Coca-Cola, Mars, Mondelez, Danone, Kraft-Heinz, Associated British Foods, General Mills, and Colgate-Palmolive.

In 2023, Nestlé led the pack with $111B in revenue, followed by PepsiCo ($91B) and Procter & Gamble ($84B).

That means the same products causing side effects are also offering a solution under the same company umbrella.

It’s a reminder of how consolidated the consumer market really is, and why supporting local, independent, and sustainable businesses matters more than ever. 🌱✨

This is the illusion of choice.

🧾 Raise the GST Threshold:

Support Canadian Small Businesses

Sign the petition to urge the Government of Canada to update the outdated $30,000 GST reporting threshold for small businesses.

📉 What's the issue?

The current GST/HST registration threshold of $30,000 hasn’t been updated since 1991—over 30 years ago. In today’s economy, that’s the equivalent of earning less than $62,000. This outdated threshold forces countless small business owners, freelancers, artists, and micro-entrepreneurs to register for GST far too early, adding unnecessary paperwork, costs, and stress just to stay afloat.

đź’ˇ Why does this matter?
Inflation has doubled the cost of living since 1991, but the threshold hasn’t budged.

Small businesses are being penalized for modest success, while large corporations dodge taxes and exploit loopholes.

Updating the threshold would empower more Canadians to grow their businesses and reinvest in their communities.

🛠️ What needs to happen?

Increase the GST threshold from $30,000 to at least $60,000 in line with inflation.

Commit to regular reviews and adjustments every 5 years.

Provide clearer exemptions and support for low-income entrepreneurs navigating the tax system.

✍️ Add your voice.

Every signature counts. By signing this petition, you're standing up for:

Fair treatment of Canada’s small business owners
Tax policies that reflect today’s reality
A healthier, more inclusive economy
