We've been gardening all summer with several bikes. My tool of choice is the Tern GSD and Natalia's been LOVING her commute with her Biktrix Swift CVT (belt drive)!

This is my final* video about what happened at the Ward 4 Town Hall meeting. It's been very distracting and different from my other content. You might say that I was inspired by Louis Rossmann, who holds companies accountable - and more recently has been getting into local politics.

Councillor Susan Stevenson has been talking to news reporters, and what she is saying about me is not true. I'm here to set the record straight and show you what really happened.

This video features the uncut visuals from my phone recording while I talk, throughout the video.

I believe in transparency and filming public meetings, so everyone can see what's going on in their parts of the city. It's a public service.

So, in this video, I break down Susan's claims, read the email I sent here that she never answered weeks later, and explain why it's so important for citizens to hold their leaders accountable.

This isn't about causing trouble; it's about making our community more open and accessible for EVERYONE.

*hopefully my final video. Depends on what happens in the future and what Susan's responses are.

“You Can't Film!” Director of City Security: “well, actually...”

After one of my videos went viral, specifically over on TikTok (1.7m views), a lot of you had questions.

Was it even legal for me to film that public town hall meeting?

I spent a crazy day running across the city to get answers directly from the top.

This is a follow-up video, where I share the official response from the City of London's Director of Security.

He confirms that yes, filming public meetings is perfectly legal. He also explains the rules for security guards and what they should have done instead.

This is important information for any citizen who wants to hold their government accountable.

Is this “Public Transparency?”

I think not. I went to a public town hall meeting in London, Ontario (Ward 4) that centred around the topic of the homelessness crisis. The meeting was hosted by city councillor Susan Stevenson and all were welcome. I set up a camera to record the discussion for people who couldn't be there. I have the equipment and I'm sitting there anyway, so it's what I typically do at these events - because why not be helpful?

But then, something weird happened: Councillor Stevenson approached me and asked me to stop filming. She even moved my camera and tripod without my permission. Security got involved, and I was told I had to leave if I kept recording. I stopped recording so I could stay and listen to the event, because I was mostly there to listen and ask my own questions.

The weirdest part? Her own husband was filming the entire meeting on his phone the whole time. This seems like a major double standard.

Still crazy to me that a 1940s typewriter (made in Canada) is still doing its job just fine, but Microsoft is trying to get me to upgrade my Windows 10 because it's "out of date."

Previous video did well. Using this typewriter in the next video because it's a delight to use!

Reading the user manual from the 1940s is pretty surreal. It's a trip.

I've TRIED talking and “being nice” but have been met with incomprehension. There's a FUNDAMENTAL MISUNDERSTANDING of what Utility Cyclists are VS what Recreational Cyclists are. Councillors, you NEED to know the difference when making rash decisions like these.

We NEED to get eyes on these bad decisions that London's City Council is consistently making when it comes to Active Transportation infrastructure.

I worked pretty much 48 hours on this until I was able to get it released ASAP (the day before everything is locked in by council) because EVERYONE needs to see this before the final decisions are made tomorrow. Unfortunately, it was released in the evening, so… I tried. Also, I tired.

This is a tell-all interview on the Wheels and Beyond Podcast and a peak behind the scenes of with today's guest: Gordon Lai, the Head of Strategy and Customer Experience at the company.

Biktrix is a Canadian-Owned Electric Bike company that's different from many of the other “ebike companies” that you might have stumbled upon online.

It staffs more than 50 employees (majority here in Canada) including mechanics, logistics specialists, customer support agents, research and development personnel, engineers, e-commerce experts, and bike enthusiasts.

Their ebikes are Assembled In Canada (specifically in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, so QC (quality control) is one of the best in the entire industry.

My wife Natalia has been riding her first-generation Biktrix Swift Step-Thru since 2021 and LOVES it! So we've kept in contact with Biktrix and this opportunity to chat with Gordon came up. So now you get to have a nice listen to our conversation!

With the USA/Canada Trade War kicking off via Tariffs being put on everything on both sides of the border, this conversation is important to hear when deciding how to support Canadian and which ecosystem to buy into going forward.
