Next week, on May 6, we are hosting a free screening of Cheryl.

Cheryl was a member of our community here in London, Ontario, and a victim of femicide. This film honours her story while bringing awareness to the realities many women continue to face.

We invite you to join us for this important evening. Admission is free, but tickets are limited please reserve yours in advance.

Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion featuring filmmaker Nigel Stuckey and Jennifer Dunn, Executive Director of the London Abused Women’s Centre.

Let’s come together to remember, reflect, and continue the conversation.

International Women’s Day in London, Ontario

This morning I had the privilege of attending the International Women’s Day Breakfast hosted by the London Abused Women’s Centre
The room was filled with women who lead, who advocate, and who are making a real difference in our community every single day. Being there for the launch of the new Shine the Light branding was truly top tier and a powerful reminder of the work still needed to support women experiencing abuse.
Moments like today always remind me how interconnected our community really is. I was proud to be sitting at the Ark Aid Mission table, while also serving on the Board of Directors for LAWC and even ran into Mya from our Island Fest team along the way.
It was one of those mornings that reminds you just how many incredible people are working behind the scenes to create change.
A room full of leaders.
A community that cares.
And a perfect end to an amazing week.

I haven’t posted in a while.

Truth is, the long, cold winter days and the heaviness of the world have been weighing on me.
Returning to my old employer in a new role has been rewarding and exciting, but alongside that is this quiet ache of what more can we do?
So many people are suffering. You see it everywhere especially on the streets. That visibility has created tension in neighbourhoods. Families are feeling the squeeze of inflation: rent, mortgages, food, utilities all while sitting in deep uncertainty.
Add in the global political chaos and the constant noise of information where no one really knows what’s true anymore… and the divisions just keep growing.

This morning, as we brace for the coldest day of the year in our region, I find myself pausing. Wondering where today will take me. Holding both the weight and the gratitude at the same time.

I’m grateful that tonight I’ll sleep in a warm bed.
That I have food in my cupboards.
That I’m loved.

What are you grateful for today?
🤍

I have a personal ask…
This week Ark Aid Street Mission (where I work) opened extra spaces to provide warmth, safety, and care for people who most nights have nowhere else to go. With temperatures at or below -15°C (with windchill) and for the next couple of weeks, we are in a cold-weather crisis 🥶❄️.

How can you help right now:

Ark Aid’s Front Door is open 9:00am-5:00pm daily, accepting:

DONATIONS:
Financial donations:[email protected]

IN KIND:
Winter gear: coats, hats, mitts, socks, boots, gift cards
Consumables: coffee, soup, snacks, hand warmers
Shelter items: twin size blankets, tarps

Amazon is an excellent resource for sending donations if you can’t make it to 696 Dundas Street.

VOLUNTEER:
[email protected]

RESTAURANT OWNERS:
As someone who comes from the restaurant industry, I’m reaching out to my friends and colleagues in food service. I know how tough things have been, and I don’t take this ask lightly. If any restaurants are able to donate a meal, please reach out to me directly so can coordinate with our kitchen manager.
Thank you in advance for even considering it truly means a lot.

SHARE: Please consider sharing this message, it helps connect us to the right people at the right time

NOTE: Supplies are being shared with other organizations also stepping up across the city, including London Cares and My Sisters’ Place.

If you know a front-line worker, staff or volunteer, remember to thank them!. The long hours, emotional strain, and constant pressure of doing more with limited resources isn’t for the weak. Showing up day after day, especially in conditions like this, takes real care and courage. Thank you ❤️🙏❤️

Community support keeps doors open when it matters most.
Together is better!

A Year of Intentional Living

In 2026, I step into a year of purpose, presence, and authenticity. My health remains a daily commitment a continuous practice of care, balance, and resilience. Writing will continue to be my sanctuary, a space to reflect, create, and process life’s journey, and I will honor this discipline for its therapeutic and transformative power.

This year, I will set deliberate intentions, create rich experiences, and make lasting memories. Family and relationships take center stage I will nurture deep connections, be fully present, and prioritize shared joy.
I cannot wait to start planning experience dates. ❤️

I will spend more time in nature, grounding myself in its rhythm. Taking the time to pause and reflect more often.

Professionally, I will serve with purpose I will lead authentically, guided by integrity, focus and courage, remaining undiminished by external noise or opinions. This year i am actively contributing on three board of directors, including the ongoing growth of Island Fest, which expanded by over 60% from 2024 to 2025.

2026 is a year for faithful stewardship of my health, my creativity, my family, and my professional impact. It is a year to act with intention, live with authenticity, and leave a meaningful imprint on the world around me.

Merry Christmas from Wendy, Arun, Daisy & Karma 🎄✨

We took approximately 947 photos trying to get a good one of all four of us in our matching PJs and this was the best we could do 😅

Turns out Christmas magic is real it just doesn’t always cooperate with cameras.

Hope your day is full of love, laughter, and slightly chaotic memories 💕

✨ Re-introducing us — Wendy & Arun ✨

For five years, our life was a restaurant.
TNT Tabanca wasn’t just a business it was our heart, our culture, our community, our everything.

But before and after TNT, we are just Wendy and Arun.
Two people.
Two roots.
One path.
We closed our doors in March after a journey that held both incredible joy and unimaginable stress. Buying a building turned into a lesson we never asked for hidden mold, electrical issues, a ceiling collapse, and problem after problem that drained our savings and our spirits. Each closure meant explaining again… to customers, to ourselves, to the world.
What people didn’t always see was the mental toll.
The loneliness.
The sleepless nights.
The grief of pouring your soul into something and watching it slip through your fingers especially during a pandemic, when simply surviving felt like success.

But here’s the truth too:
We loved deeply.
We learned fiercely.
We built something from nothing.
And that will always be ours.

Now, we’re here healing, grounding, and choosing joy again. Loving ourselves, our families and our pets, chasing our passions, honoring our cultures, sharing our views, and reclaiming us outside of a business name.

This page is no longer just about food.
It’s about life the messy parts, the beautiful parts, and everything in between.

If you’ve ever lost something you loved…
If you’ve ever rebuilt from zero…
If you’ve ever had to grieve a dream to make space for a new one…

Welcome. 🤍
This is our story, still being written.

Sleep in peace, Amit.

You left us far too soon, and our hearts are heavy in a way that’s hard to put into words. You were such a sweet soul misunderstood at times, but always full of love, warmth, and that quiet spark that made you you.

I’ll never forget the night you took me “up in Space” in Trinidad the bar, not the sky where we danced like no one was watching. We laughed until our sides hurt, and even when gravity pulled me down on the way back to earth, we kept laughing. It’s a moment I’ll hold onto forever.

Tonight, I’m holding my husband and our whole family close in my heart as they say their final goodbye to you.

Amit, you were loved. You were seen.
Rest in sweet, gentle peace.
We will miss you deeply and always. 💔
