You probably don’t need another AI tool. You need to master the one you already have.
That was one of my biggest messages today as I had the opportunity to speak alongside Dr. Jumoke at the 2nd Annual London Black Business Symposium at RBC Place London.
From the conversations in the room, one thing was clear: many business owners are using AI, but we’re still only scratching the surface of what it can actually do. And some haven’t started using it at all.
My advice?
Stop jumping from AI tool to AI tool.
Know your business.
Choose the right AI for what you do.
Train it to understand you.
Teach it your voice, your work and your audience.
Connect it to the tools you already use.
Then master it.
The goal isn’t to collect AI tools. The goal is to make technology genuinely work for you.
And for those still skeptical about AI — that’s okay too. The answer isn’t to blindly embrace technology. We need to understand it, use it responsibly and find the right balance between technology and humanity.
This is why events like the London Black Business Symposium matter. They create opportunities for our community to learn, connect and make sure we aren’t left behind as technology continues to change how business is done.
Thank you to the London Black Business Foundation for having me and for continuing to invest in the growth of Black entrepreneurs and our community.
Great seeing and sharing the stage with Nadia McCormack-McIntyre and Patrick Dinneya during the panel session as well.
Don’t just use AI. Master it.
