A Quebec man has been charged, following a suspicious vehicle call that led to the discovery of suspected drugs, a prohibited weapon, and multiple probation breaches.

The accused, Robbie Robinson, 52-year-old, male, of Kebaowek, Quebec, has been charged with the following offences:

· Operation While Impaired – Alcohol or Drugs
· Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine
· Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
· Fail to Comply with Prohibition Order
· Three counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order

On September 4, 2025, at approximately 5:40 p.m., North Bay Police Service (NBPS) responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Sherbrooke Street area. Officers located the vehicle and observed that the driver was showing visible signs of impairment. Within reach of the driver, officers also observed what appeared to be a prohibited substance. The accused was transported to NBPS headquarters for further investigation. An evaluation by a trained Drug Recognition Expert revealed the accused’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired.

A subsequent search resulted in the seizure of suspected crystal methamphetamine, items associated with drug use, and a set of prohibited brass knuckles.

The accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
