Today, I submitted the manuscript for Dad’s Pennies from Heaven. 🦋
What an incredible journey this has been.
Over the past several months, I have revisited some of the most meaningful, heartbreaking, beautiful, and transformative moments of my life. I have listened to recordings, reviewed memories, sorted through photographs, and relived my father’s journey with dementia from beginning to end.
There were moments when I smiled.
There were moments when I cried.
And there were many moments when I felt my dad right beside me, reminding me why this story needed to be told.
Dad’s Pennies from Heaven shares my father’s journey with dementia, my caregiving experience, and the signs he continued to send after his passing.
It is a story about love.
It is a story about family.
It is a story about grief, hope, resilience, and the unbreakable bonds that continue long after a loved one has left the physical world.
Most of all, it is a tribute to my father, Robert.
Submitting this manuscript on the anniversary of his crossing and Father’s Day weekend feels especially meaningful. There is something beautifully full-circle about sharing his story with the world on a day that honours both his life and his legacy.
Dad, this is for you. ❤️ I love you!
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, shared your stories, and walked alongside me throughout this journey. Your love, kindness, and encouragement helped carry me through the writing of this book.
The manuscript has officially been submitted.
I feel like this is only the beginning.
