Parkindale Productions Presents: Thom Swift.
Tickets $20.00
Doors: 7:30pm / Showtime: 8:00pm
For the past two-plus decades, New Brunswick-born, Nova Scotia-based, singer-songwriter, Thom Swift has enjoyed a career in music that has brought him a multitude of acclaim and awards.
His most recent record, The Fortunate Few continues his winning ways. The album was awarded the 2014 East Coast Music Award for Blues Recording of the Year and the 2013 Music Nova Scotia Award for Blues Recording of the Year.
With a strong foundation in Americana roots and blues, Thomâs earnest baritone voice and distinctive original music has brought him to soft seat venues and festivals across Canada, Europe and the United States, including the Vienna Jazz Festival, 2010 Vancouver Olympics and last yearâs International Blues Summit in Memphis, TN.
He has shared the stage with noted performers such as Rosanne Cash, John Hiatt, John Mayall, Guy Davis, Bill Frisell, Pinetop Perkins and Canned Heat.
Thomâs performances are all about connecting and engaging with his listeners. Audiences consistently identify with his lyrical content because he approaches his songs from a very real and grounded perspective.
His songs are full of honesty and integrity that flow through every note he plays and every story he tells. He writes and sings about lifeâs celebrations and disappointments and the commonality of our human experience.
A master finger-style and bottleneck slide guitarist, Thomâs trusty vintage guitars, including a 1930 National Steel Resonator and two acoustic guitars: a Triple O Martin and a Gibson J45, are played effortlessly and driven by his love of open guitar tunings.
As a solo artist, Thom has four recordings to his credit, including 2007âs Into The Dirt, 2010âs Blue Sky Day, the 2011 childrenâs recording titled, The Wood Buffalo Youth Song Project and his most recent, The Fortunate Few.

Parkindale Productions Presents: Shred Kelly.
Shred Kelly is a formulation of friends and foot stomping good times born in the East Kootenayâs of British Columbia. Hailing from the town of Fernie, the five piece band is best known for mixing clawhammer banjo riffs that tear the fabric of space and time with ambient synth, high voltage guitar, fierce drums, and hauntingly sweet vocal harmonies to produce a sound that has been properly coined âStoke Folkâ.
While their gritty and fun 2010 album âGoodbye Julyâ still resonates strongly with boot slappinâ slacker anthems such as âI Hate Workâ and âGhost Inside My Headâ, their newest full length album release âIn the Hillsâ takes the mountain string band and adds a cup of electric shock, belting out stories of small town love and tragedy in the places they hail from. Having recently been awarded 2013 Live Act of the year at the Kootenay Music Awards and garnering frequent play on CBC Radio 3 as well performances at major Canadian Festivals, Shred Kelly is turning banjo doubters into sweaty indie folk rock believers on the dance floor, one town at a time. âThe band has put Fernie BC on the map as the home of âstoke folkâ, Shred Kellyâs patented genre of uptempo indie roots rock. Propelling all of this is the strength of their music: melodic, well-crafted, dynamic songs that we at the CBC adore, as do their legions of fans from across the country.â â Grant Lawrence, CBC Radio 3
âShred Kelly âs second album, In The Hills, hits with such force that I was compelled to jump out of my seat for a solo foot stomping dance party. With a sound that harkens Elliott Brood and with driving tempos and intricate melodies that rivals Mumford and Sons, the album grabs your attention and holds it for the full 40 minute run time.â â Greg Mahood, Earshot
