White trash summer ✨

Okay I know I’ve been quiet online - truthfully the last month or so has been tough. Some of my medication dosages got changed, and adjusting to those changes while being a mom 24/7 while trying to manage moving has been a lot.

But if anyone wants a little giggle - my kiddo has had to join me for my biweekly bloodwork, and today they took 6 tubes… while leaving, she goes “Why did they have to take SO MUCH of your blood?! Are they trying to raise someone from the dead with it or something?!” 😂

Anyways, school starts next week, I’m slowly getting settled in our new place, and I think we’ve figured out my meds (I hope 🤞🏼) - so hopefully you’ll see a bit more of me on here.

For now let’s take a moment to appreciate how stunning Jade is & how fun these photos are! ❤️

“The woods have remembered you since the first time you got lost in them.”

There’s no special meaning behind Julys self portraits; just an overwhelming need to take weird photos in the forest again 🌿 I love the slightly spooky but slightly whimsical vibes I chose, and I loved getting to create this headpiece 🦌

Next month I’ll aim for something more profound 😉

The wind was an unpaid actor this time 😭

I had to completely pivot my original plan - I had each balloon tied to its own chunk of hair, and then I stepped outside, and within seconds the balloons were so tangled that it took me a solid 10 minutes to get them apart 😭 After that I decided to do one chunk of hair on each side & hold onto the balloons until the wind died down. It was honestly such a challenge to do these photos, my sleeves wouldn’t stay up, the wind was relentless, and the dress kept slipping - I’m amazed that I got any good images at all.

If anyone ends up recreating this idea - make sure to do it on a day with no wind 😂❤️

(Actually crying while typing this caption up 🥲…)

This month’s self portraits are just for FUN - because I feel good enough to have fun again!! The treatment for my autoimmune condition has started working, I’m finally retaining water & nutrients, and I feel BETTER. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

It’s not necessarily a “I’m not sick anymore” better - but more like a “I can deep clean my couch & not be bed ridden for 3 days because of it” better. And honestly, I’ll take it at this point. Thankfully this medication should keep slowly improving my quality of life over the next few months, and I’m really excited to be able to enjoy life a little bit more.

For the past few years, I’ve been watching my life fall into place in every aspect - except for my health. It’s a bump in the road, and it’ll continue being a barrier for me; but hopefully with the right treatment & lots of time, it’ll control my life less & less.

Anyways, all this to say: I have energy again and I feel BETTER ❤️ So here’s me being a fun little clown for Mays self portraits 🥰

Hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend in the sun - I’m so excited to post about this weekends workshop next!
