I received some questions regarding WHICH mixing palette you should choose.

Ok, so here’s the thing:

🤓 PLASTIC PALETTES: these are useful when traveling, on the go, and when you start with watercolor since they are cheap to get and light to bring into your bag.

✋ BUT, it is not what I would recommend because you will be “chasing” the pigments with your paintbrush (just like in my picture on the left side).

👌 CERAMIC PALETTES: THIS is where it’s at! The pigments stay and you can easily do a little “pool color”.
💜 When I started, I used a cheap Dollar Store snail dish plate and still use them years later.
🤩 The bottom one is handmade in Turkey and allows mixing of a lot of colors.

I’m planning on creating my own palettes because I like different shapes inside them to mix my colors. I usually keep my colors in my mixing palettes on my desk and simply reactivate them with water and use them again and again.
