Le Prénom en héritage, entretien avec El Mouboub Mouhoud...
Une auto-histoire migratoire
Dans son ouvrage intitulé " Le Prénom. Esquisse d'une auto-histoire de l'immigration algérienne », El Mouhoub Mouhoud nous livre un récit personnel qui transcende l'autobiographie pour devenir l'illustration d'une histoire sociale et collective de l'émigration algérienne. Ce livre s'inscrit dans la lignée du sociologue Abdelmalek Sayad, pour qui « l'émigration et l'immigration sont deux phénomènes aussi indissociables que le recto et le verso de la même feuille ».
L'importance symbolique du prénom
Le prénom « El Mouhoub », hérité du grand-père, devient une marque identitaire à la fois intime et politique. Il incarne la mémoire kabyle, l'héritage colonial et la transmission familiale. In his book entitled “Le Prénom. Esquisse d'une auto-histoire de l'immigration algérienne” (The First Name: An Outline of a Personal History of Algerian Immigration), El Mouhoub Mouhoud gives us a personal account that transcends autobiography to become an illustration of the social and collective history of Algerian emigration. This book follows in the footsteps of sociologist Abdelmalek Sayad, for whom “emigration and immigration are two phenomena as inseparable as the front and back of the same sheet of paper.”
The symbolic importance of the first name
The first name “El Mouhoub,” inherited from his grandfather, becomes an intimate and political mark of identity. It embodies Kabyle memory, colonial heritage, and family transmission.
