As great pianist / musician / member of the Beaux Arts Trio, Maestro Menahem Pressler said:
"... to be devoted to music, as I was, and I really was, it meant everything to me. The world of music is a difficult world. Because quality is [the] deciding factor. Talent is important, but is insufficient. So, all the other things that have to come with it, that make it possible for someone to go out to the world of music and excel. A life of music is a rich life and it has nothing to do, actually, or very little to do with the outward success that you may have.... that you play in Paris, Berlin, London... it is wonderful. I don't deny that. But I can imagine and I have seen a teacher, is important wherever he or she is, by creating something in another person that is meaningful. And to teach is something that is meaningful."
