Learning about Canada fosters a sense of citizenship. This is crucial when we travel abroad because it helps understand what Canada has to offer. More importantly, it gives us a sense of belonging, and it encourages participation. Understanding citizenship also involves appreciating diversity, respecting others' rights, and working towards the betterment of the community.

Aprender sobre Canadá fomenta un sentido de ciudadanía. Esto es crucial cuando viajamos al extranjero, porque nos ayuda a comprender lo que Canadá tiene para ofrecer. Más importante aún, nos da un sentido de pertenencia y fomenta la participación. Comprender la ciudadanía también implica apreciar la diversidad, respetar los derechos de los demás y trabajar por el mejoramiento de la comunidad.

Es un honor nominar a Silvia Guimarey, una venezolana de nacimiento que ha dejado una huella profunda en la ciudad de Montreal desde su llegada a los 15 años en 1994. Con una amplia formación en modelaje y relaciones públicas, Silvia ha destacado en diversos campos profesionales, desde la planificación de eventos hasta el activismo por los derechos humanos.

Con fluidez en tres idiomas, Silvia ha acumulado más de 12 años de experiencia en el campo de la educación, trabajando para la Comisión Escolar Inglesa de Montreal. Además, ha obtenido certificaciones como Instructora de Etiqueta, Life Coach y Instructora de Pasarela, demostrando su compromiso con el desarrollo personal y profesional.

Desde el 2017, ha tenido el honor de presentar la gala más grande que premia el talento latino en Canadá, los Latin Awards Canada, lo que refleja su influencia y reconocimiento en la comunidad. En 2018, dio vida a Silvia's Academy, un programa integral que busca empoderar y orientar a niñas y mujeres hacia una presentación personal más positiva y asertiva.

Su dedicación como entrenadora profesional ha llevado a participantes a competir en certámenes nacionales e internacionales de belleza, como Miss Mundo Canadá, Miss Eco Teen en Egipto y Miss Reina Hispanoamericana en Bolivia, entre otros.

En reconocimiento a su inigualable trabajo, la Asociación de Heritage Hispanique Quebec le otorgó el Primer Premio de la Mujer Hispana de Quebec en la categoría de Empoderamiento en 2021, destacando su labor como líder ejemplar y su invaluable contribución a la comunidad.

Por su dedicación, influencia y compromiso con el empoderamiento de mujeres y niñas, Silvia Guimarey merece ser reconocida como una profesional con influencia en su comunidad y más allá.

Gift giving its so special, there is nothing like seeing that sparkle on someone's eyes. Of course, presents should be proportionate to many things such as the budget and the relationship between the giver and the receiver.
But if you ask me the best part of all of this is how much you can learn from those that present you a token of their affection.
These presents that I am sharing here are from some of my students and their parents...

🤍The Christmas tree ornament, for my 1st year as Mrs. What a nice way to help celebrate my recent wedding.
💜Korean Chopsticks; the cultural context, the history, and the fact that I am an etiquette instructor to receive a present such as this is very touching!
🩶Personalized themed chocolates; another sign of how attentive to detail some parents are. This box made my day. My letter head, my fav wedding pics, the silver, the white, the mirrored snowflakes... absolutely stunning.
🩷Ceder's Rose, Juniper and Hibiscus distilled water, I cant wait to taste, its pink its made with flowers and the bottle is beautiful, I cant wait to mix some girly cocktail with it.
🩷Shortbread tree cookie with pink icing..., it was so yummy. It literally lasted 12 seconds in my hand.
💚Chocolates and Candy Canes, yes, theres nothing like a candy cane and chocolates for those snowy christmas nights to remind you to taste and savor the special moments.

I am so thankful and blessed to be surrounded by so many amazing kids and their parents. 🙏🏽
