Good morning Habs fans!
We're just 41 days away from the Canadiens season opener!

Paul Byron was put on waivers by the Flames and quickly picked up by the Canadiens after a YouTube video showcased his speed to the Habs scouting staff. The year after he was claimed by the Habs, Byron set a career high in goals, assists and points.

Byron would play 7 years and 383 games with the Canadiens, scoring 81 goals and adding 79 assists for 160 points.

On May 20th, 2021 - Paul Byron became a Canadiens legend when he scored a short handed, breakaway game winning goal in Game 1 against Toronto. The Canadiens would end up winning that series in 7 games en route to the Stanley Cup Finals.

That photo is seen below.

Here's our 2025/26' opening night roster prediction:

This is similar to the one RDS released a few days ago, the minor changes would be starting the season with Struble instead of Xhekaj and Kahkonen in Laval over Dobes who played really well last year for the Canadiens.

Lane Hutson played well with Struble last year which is why I have them paired for the beginning of next season. It's also very likely that a few players from Laval will start the season in the press box. If this happens I could see either Josh Roy, Beck, Florian Xhekaj and Engstrom getting a game or two in the first few weeks.

Let me know what you think!

Brendan Gallagher could join a class of legends after the 2025–26 season. If he plays a full 82 games, he’ll move up to 12th all-time in games played.

Passing the likes of Steve Shutt, Doug Harvey, Guy Carbonneau, and more.

Do you consider Gallagher one of the all-time greats?
