Reconnaissons leurs luttes, leurs forces, leurs voix et leurs contributions innombrables. Valorisons et soutenons les femmes et filles noires, aujourd’hui et chaque jour. 💛

❗SIX NOUVEAUX MEMBRES ont rejoint le CONSEIL D'ADMINISTRATION de la TABLE RONDE, à la suite des élections organisées (renouvellement de mandats) le mois dernier, lors de l'Assemblée Générale Annuelle, le 5 juin 2025.

Nos invincibles sont décidément toujours en très bonne compagnie, et comptent désormais leurs visiteurs en milliers, dont le Ministre de l'Identité et de la Culture canadiennes, l'hon. Steven Guilbeault, qui y était hier, le 3 juillet 2025.

Faites-vous partie des plus de 7000 personnes, à date, à avoir longé les murs de la salle d'exposition? Ou deviendrez-vous le ou la 10 000ème à passer faire un tour? On lui réserve peut-être une petite surprise, qui sait? 🙃 En attendant, le décompte se poursuit!

🎉Joel Campbell est notre lauréat du mois de juillet !

Né à Londres en Angleterre, Joel Campbell a commencé sa carrière en tant que directeur musical et claviériste aux côtés d’artistes renommés tels que Ronny Jordan, Eurythmics, Tina Turner et Janet Jackson. Il a composé pour des artistes tels que Luther Vandross, Naughty By Nature, Brian McKnight, Joe et Omarion, et signé des bandes sonores de films, notamment Hitch, avec Will Smith, et Get Rich or Die Tryin’, mettant en vedette 50 Cent. Il exerce actuellement les fonctions de directeur musical des Imani Gospel Singers. En 2023, Campbell a été récompensé de six prix du meilleur compositeur et sept nominations officielles internationales pour les albums Behind Black Art et COLOR. Mais ce qui anime par-dessus tout Campbell, c’est d’inspirer d’autres musiciens.

Born in London, England, Joel Campbell began his career as a musical director and keyboardist working with such renowned artists as Ronny Jordan, Eurythmics, Tina Turner and Janet Jackson. He has composed for artists such as Luther Vandross, Naughty By Nature, Brian McKnight, Joe and Omarion, and scored films including Hitch, starring Will Smith, and Get Rich or Die Tryin', featuring 50 Cent. Campbell was also musical director of the concert Beladi: A Night at the Pyramids , featuring Chantal Chamandy accompanied by the Cairo Symphony Orchestra. From 2017 to 2023, he was Director of Worship and Artistic Director at the Resurrection Center, where he produced the album All In, which reached #1 on the iTunes Inspiration chart. He currently serves as musical director of the Imani Gospel Singers. In 2023, Campbell received six Best Composer awards and seven official international nominations for the albums Behind Black Art and COLOR. But what drives Campbell most of all is to inspire other musicians.

Mary Ann Guilmartin, born in 1858 in Georgia, United States, married Onésiphore Ernest Talbot, a Liberal Member of Parliament for Bellechasse. Despite the very conservative social context and the many obstacles women faced at the time, she showed courage in the face of a relationship marked by domestic violence.

In 1898, after enduring a violent relationship, she obtained a divorce—an uncommon act at a time when women had very few rights.

Her courage and determination inspired the feminist movement in Quebec by raising awareness of women’s rights and contributing to significant changes in societal attitudes and legislation of the time.

Her story remains a symbol of resilience and the fight for women’s rights.
