Road Poets Radio is going 100% Canadian. My last two shows have pretty much been. Check it out at 101.7 FM in Nanaimo, or on the Internet at chly.ca. I personally stream through my Sonos app. Theme based music, you won’t hear anywhere else. Keeping terrestrial radio alive.

CHLY 101.7 FM is the campus-community radio station of Nanaimo broadcasting news, and an eclectic mix of independent rock, pop, alternative, hip-hop, R&B, reggae, electronic, jazz, folk and blues. Run by a small staff supported by volunteers from Vancouver Island University (VIU) and the mid-Van

I don’t usually chime in when an artist passes, but for me this album was a door opening. It became a soundtrack for some fun high school years too.

The Silver Tongued Devil and I is the second studio album recorded by singer-songwriter Kris Kristofferson. It was produced by Fred Foster, released in July 1971 on Monument Records and followed his critically acclaimed debut Kristofferson.

A VERY good day indeed! Hanging with songwriter friends Ray Wylie Hubbard and Eliza Gilkyson and (not pictured but dearly loved) Ask Mother Hubbard makes for great stories, belly laughs, and SO MANY fond memories. ❤️

I was bumming around Venice, sleeping on the beach. I heard these guys talking on the boardwalk, and I said, “Those guys sound like they’re from Lubbock.” You just could not disguise it, especially Jesse. I walked up and told them, “I know you are from somewhere within 100 miles of Lubbock.” They were all a little shocked, then introduced themselves. That’s when I first met Jesse. Later I saw him back in Lubbock, hanging around the club scene. I saw him kind of progress and just get better and better. He played with Krackerjack, just a killer rockin’ blues band.

Pretend To Be Alive is a blues tune inspired by a comment from my aging father. The “It’s Alive “ Frankenstein clips perhaps add some levity to a tough subject.
