There’s so much to be thankful for this year 🤎

For the clients who have trusted me, the referrals that have brought so many wonderful people into my life, and every family and story I’ve had the privilege of capturing behind my lens.

I’m thankful for the friends this business has brought me who have slowly turned into family. For the people who love me through all my chaos and continue to show up for me anyway.

And I’m thankful for the hard seasons, too. This year has asked a lot of me, but somehow every hard thing has left me a little stronger, a little wiser and a little more myself.

I’m thankful for where I am, for what brought me here and for everything still ahead 🤎

Still such a surreal feeling 🥹🤍

Last year I was nominated in 6 categories and somehow placed in all 6. So being nominated in those same 6 categories again this year, plus 3 new ones, is something I’m really proud of!

I’ve put so much time, energy, creativity and honestly a whole lot of myself into Bloom & Capture Co. over the last almost 2 years. There have been so many late nights, ideas, shoots, edits, events, learning curves and moments where I’ve had absolutely no idea what I was doing but I kept going.

Having that work recognized by the community means more to me than I can really put into words.

We have some new faces joining the Greater Napanee Soccer Club board and we thought we’d take a moment to introduce you to two of them!

Meet Robyn! 👋🏼
Robyn is joining the board as our new Social Media Coordinator and will be taking over our social media and helping share everything happening within the club!

Many families will know Robyn from photographing the club this past season and from coaching one of our U8/9 girls teams this summer. She’s also been part of the Greater Napanee Soccer Club as a player herself, so this club has been part of her life for quite a while!

Meet Brennan! 👋🏼
Brennan has been part of the Greater Napanee soccer community for many years and has played with the club throughout the years. He continues to be involved with some of our competitive teams and brings plenty of experience and knowledge of the game to the board!

We’re excited to have both Robyn and Brennan joining the board and bringing some fresh ideas and energy with them!

And this is just the beginning! We’ll be introducing you to the rest of our incredible board of volunteers who make this club possible in our upcoming Meet the Board series! Stay tuned! ⚽️🤍

There are some stories that stay with you long after the conversation ends and this is one of them.

Tamara welcomed us into a deeply personal part of her life and, with so much honesty and love, shared Gwendolyn’s story with us. We feel incredibly honoured that she trusted us to hold space for her story and to share a little piece of Gwen with our community.

Some stories are shaped by moments we never imagined we would have to live through. Others are shaped by what we choose to build from them.

This week, we’re honoured to introduce Tamara Deann, founder of The Gwen Effect Foundation and grief coach, for the tenth feature in our Built by Her series.

After losing her daughter, Gwendolyn, following a life of complex medical challenges, Tamara found herself navigating grief, anger and a darkness that changed everything. Through her own healing journey and the help of Bʟᴀᴄᴋ Sʜᴇᴇᴘ Tʜɪɴᴋɪɴɢ she began finding her way forward and discovered a new purpose in helping others.

Today, Tamara supports medical families and those navigating child loss through The Gwen Effect Foundation, while also helping others through grief as a coach and creating spaces for connection and healing within the community.

Join us this week as we hear Tamara’s story, learn about Gwendolyn’s legacy
and explore how one mother has turned an unimaginable loss into a way of showing up for others.
