For our sixth Built by Her feature, we’re honoured to introduce Leigh McCarthy, founder of A Loveleigh Place.

Leigh’s journey has taken her from elementary and high school international classrooms around the world to classrooms here in Canada , before eventually leading her into a new chapter of entrepreneurship.

Today, A Loveleigh Place is more than a business. It’s a space built around learning, creativity, connection, and community. Through her Sharing to Create initiative, Leigh continues to create opportunities for people to participate regardless of financial or physical limitations, while supporting local artists, authors, and makers along the way.

In this conversation, Leigh shares the experiences that shaped her journey, what brought her from the classroom to Greater Napanee, and why creating opportunities for others has become such an important part of what she’s building.

Some chapters take us places we never expected to go.

This Thursday, we’re honoured to introduce Leigh McCarthy, founder of A Loveleigh Place, for the sixth feature in our Built by Her series.

After years spent teaching elementary and high school around the world, Leigh eventually stepped away from the classroom and into a new chapter of entrepreneurship. What she carried with her was a wealth of experiences, perspectives, and lessons from the many places and communities that shaped her along the way.

there’s so many new faces around here, so allow me to reintroduce myself 🤍

I love that this little corner of the internet is continuously growing, so I figured I should actually introduce myself to all the new people here!

Hi, I’m Robyn Mae, the girl behind Bloom & Capture Co. 📸

A few random facts about me:
• I’m a photographer, content creator + I LOVE organic marketing
• I’ve always been a creative person and somehow turned all of my random creative interests into a business 😂
• I have a very detailed eye and will absolutely put myself in the weirdest position imaginable if I think it’ll make the shot better
• I’m a dog mom to my rescue doodle, Oaklyn 🐶
• I’m a proud auntie to two little boys + honorary auntie to approximately 20 more at this point lol
• I love thrifting, farmers markets, nostalgia + romanticizing the absolute crap out of everyday life
• When I’m not working, I’m probably with my friends and family or watching some painfully cringe reality TV
• And because apparently photography, marketing and content creation weren’t enough, I’m also a self published author with two books 😂

I’ve always loved capturing the little things. The random moments, the in betweens, the things you might not think twice about now but will probably miss so much someday.

Basically, I just really love making things, meeting people and finding a way to make ordinary moments feel a little more special.

I’m incredibly grateful I got to experience this season as both a coach and the club photographer! Thank you to the Greater Napanee Soccer Club board for everything you do behind the scenes to make all of this possible!!
