In short, no they are not… BUT you need to be strategic about what type of posts you are creating. Each post type has a specific purpose:
REELS - the fastest way to reach more people. Reels are still the go to when you want to reach a wider audience. Combine educational content in an entertaining way and you have the potential to blow up and go viral. Going viral shouldn’t be your priority, your priority should be providing value to your ideal audience. (I have another post on going viral).
CAROUSELS - these are great for story-telling and sharing step by step educational pieces. Break down your content into something that’s easily digestible using carousels. Remember you want to keep your community engaged so make sure to have a strong hook, paired with a beginning, middle and end and watch the saves on your carousels go up.
STORIES - this is where you can humanize your brand. Give your community a behind the scenes look of what you are working on, what your other hobbies are, etc. People are social, and stories are a great way to add the social in social media. People will buy/follow/support you if they are able to relate to you. Utilize stories to create that connection.
STATIC POSTS - Finally, static posts are still a tool in your tool box that you should be using. Adam Mosseri recently said we are a photo-sharing platform so don’t ignore static posts. This is the perfect tool where you can work on writing your captions and providing that value in the captions. Make sure to use a strong hook in your post and give all the juicy details in your caption.
