Unique children’s book helps young Canadians understand service, sacrifice and the importance of remembrance
(Kingston, ON) – A new children’s book is helping teach remembrance through storytelling, by helping young Canadians understand what it means to serve one’s country – and why remembrance matters. The book explores Canadians’ contributions to the world during times of war, conflict and peacekeeping, while celebrating the nation’s shared values of respect, freedom and belonging.
Created to appeal to children from preschool to grade 7, the book presents an engaging, age-appropriate way to explore Canada’s military history and the meaning of remembrance. It also
includes more detail and context for older children, families and teachers.
The story honours those who have served in the Canadian Armed Forces – from the First and Second World Wars, the Korean War, through to more recent conflicts – and highlights the sacrifices made by Veterans, service members and their families.
Developed in collaboration with The Royal Canadian Legion, the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research (CIMVHR), Canadian Forces Morale & Welfare Services - CFMWS and Canadian Veterans from across the country, the project reflects a shared national commitment to remembrance and learning.

"Without quotas to make the parties perform better, Canada’s federal elections are failing voters’ expectations for what legitimate political institutions look like.
Public opinion speaks clearly. People do not mind gender quotas, because what they really do not like is seeing men dominate politics.
Canada has fallen behind other countries not just because it elects fewer women, but because it lacks any policy commitment to do better. The country cannot sell gender equality abroad without first practicing it at home," says Dr. Jennifer Piscopo:
Women won just 30 per cent of seats in Canada’s House of Commons in April, the same proportion they held before the elections.

"In Animal Farm, George Orwell warned what happens when those in power rewrite the rules: “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”
Here in Saanich, that line feels uncomfortably familiar. Rules that once seemed firm are suddenly open to interpretation — depending on who’s asking.
At the centre of the controversy is the Planning Department, which applies bylaws for everything from small home renovations to major projects. Residents are seeing a pattern of inconsistency and weak accountability that’s eroding trust in local government."
Author Franke James on what it means to maintain fairness, transparency and trust at every level of government.
"Emergency department closures. Long wait times for surgeries and specialist appointments. Millions of Canadians without a primary healthcare provider.
Healthcare systems across Canada are struggling to provide timely and equitable access to healthcare services — at a time when provincial governments are reining in spending in the midst of economic uncertainty.
Canada needs to find solutions that improve affordability, access and healthcare costs. A promising path is to look to other countries for innovative healthcare policies and practices, beginning with Australia.
Why look to Australia?" asks Dr. Jason Sutherland, Professor of Health Services and Policy and Director of the UBC Centre for Health Services and Policy Research in the UBC School of Population and Public Health:
A recent international comparison of healthcare systems ranked Australia as the top performer — Canada was ranked seventh.

"As the federal government looks to use every tool at its disposal to reshape and strengthen the Canadian economy, it must not overlook one of its chief assets – women entrepreneurs.
Their ingenuity, perseverance and know-how can help drive the economy forward," says Centre For Women's Enterprise Canada's CEO, Rosalind Lockyer:

Not public yet. But it’s in our team’s hands, and soon our beta testers’. Beautiful, buggy, and real.

On top of that, we've opened investment to Canadians through equity crowdfunding (link in the comments).
Now it’s Canada’s turn. Join us and help build social media as it should be.

Some of our clients include: Nobel Women’s Initiative, Autism Canada, The Senate of Canada, Heart and Stroke, Canadian Frailty Network (a National Centre of Excellence), Canadian Medical Association's Choosing Wisely Campaign, Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement, Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions, Informed Opinions, Translating Research in Elder Care, the Centre for Health Law, Policy and Ethics at the University of Ottawa, School of Public Policy at the University of Calgary, Telfer School of Management, Canadian Sleep Society, Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, Office of Public Service Accessibility, Treasury Board -- and many more.

Our client articles have recently appeared in the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Bloomberg, Seattle Times, Globe and Mail, Maclean's, La Presse, Le Devoir, and many other major outlets, and are reprinted widely in niche digital and ethnic publications across North America.
It is not unusual for a single client piece to be reprinted dozens of times across diverse media outlets which can mean substantial ‘advertising equivalent’ value (often in the tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars ad equivalent with an audience reach into the millions) for the client. Last year, we helped more than 150 client pieces appear in media outlets well over 1200 times.
