I am still buzzing from our trip to Ontario's Algoma Country last week! We spent 3 days exploring the North Channel on Lake Huron for the first time. It was breathtaking out there on the big water, and we lucked out with low winds for the duration of our visit. We had wonderful accommodations and hosts at Blue Heron Resort right on the Spanish River. Although we were aiming to target smallmouth bass primarily, we landed a number of memorable catches, starting with a 27-inch walleye which was my first catch (I posted a video of it yesterday)! 😄 We also got into a number of quality smallmouth throughout the 3 days, including a 5-pounder caught by Eric. He also picked up a nice northern pike, and we got into several beautiful rainbow trout on bass gear, which was unexpected but an absolute blast! I can't wait to go through all the footage and share more from this adventure in an upcoming vlog, and an article as well. A huge thank you to Ontario's Algoma Country for hosting us on such an unforgettable trip!

It felt good to set the hook again! I've been recovering from a rotator cuff injury and as such, yesterday was my first day on the water in a little while. My shoulder has been giving me trouble for quite some time but I finally started physiotherapy recently when it got much worse and I'm so happy to be seeing huge improvement already. I tried to take it easy yesterday but that's not easy for me to do 😆 I only had 3 rods on deck for the day, including my glide, jig, and Ned rig set-ups. I picked up this 4-pound largie on a jig, and an even bigger one on a glide. I plan to post videos of these catches as well. My shoulder is definitely feeling it today but I plan to keep up with my exercises and appointments and really hope to be fully recovered soon! 🤞 I hope you are having a great weekend and catching some fish! ☺

It has been a busy summer on the water! I'm getting close to wrapping up all the videos and articles from our amazing fishing road trip in Northeastern Ontario that took place last month! We traveled with our boat to Temiskaming Shores and fished Lake Temiskaming, then to Sudbury where we fished on Panache Lake & Fairbank Lake, and then finally to North Bay to explore Lake Nipissing. Eric and I got into smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, pumpkinseeds & bluegills, (my first) goldeye, lake trout, and more. I love exploring new waters, putting the puzzle together to find fish, and getting to catch a bunch of species. I am grateful to Northeastern Ontario Tourism & each community for the opportunity to showcase these beautiful destinations and share my fishing experiences. These are dream trips for me! ☺🙏 I can't wait to share more from the final stop of our trip, and then it's time for me to get out of my office and back on the water! 😎 I hope you're having a great weekend and catching some fish!

Yesterday was such a fun and memorable day at the Howell's Marine & SeaArk Boats Open House! Special guest and fellow SeaArk teammate, John Godwin, made the trip all the way from Louisiana to spend the day at the event! It was wonderful to get to hang out with John, as well as see him interacting with so many fans who stopped by to meet him. There were tons of SeaArk boats on display (including my Flex 21), there were prizes, local vendors/clubs, and plenty of delicious food. I am grateful to have been part of the day, and getting to meet so many friendly anglers and hunters! Huge thank you to all the folks at Howell's, SeaArk, John, and everyone who stopped in and made it such a great day all around! I hope to be back in the area soon! ☺

We just had a FUN few days fishing on Lake Temiskaming in Northeastern Ontario! Eric and I got into a bunch of beautiful smallmouth bass, walleye, and a couple of other species as well (including a new one for me)! I fished here for the first time last summer for a tournament and had such a great experience that I was thrilled for the opportunity to return through a partnership with Northeastern Ontario Tourism and Temiskaming Shores Tourism. I filmed our fishing adventure and will also be writing an article about the whole experience. I can't wait to share more from this trip! 😄

Some fun catches from recent travels! Yesterday we explored the Trent River and Rice Lake for an article I am working on. This largemouth bass that I picked up on a hollow body frog was a definite highlight! I absolutely LOVE a topwater bite and it has been super effective lately! The walleye was caught on Sharbot Lake a couple weeks ago during opening weekend for bass while I was working on another writing assignment. In addition to getting into a bunch of bass here, I picked up this golden beauty on a Z-Man Graph Shadz (you may see it peeking out of the mouth 👀)! Eric’s smallmouth was landed yesterday, also on the Trent River. I hopped out of the boat for a few minutes to pick up some milkshakes at the end of the day, and he landed this one while I was gone. The sun was setting so the photo doesn’t quite do justice to the beautiful reddish colour of this fish. Summer seems to be flying by already but I’m doing my best to appreciate all the moments on the water! ☺🙏

We had an absolute blast last week on a kayak fishing adventure in the Elliot Lake area, staying at the beautiful Laurentian Lodge!
