Jumping the broom is more than tradition—it symbolizes Black love, resilience, and unity. ✨ This tradition dates back to the era of slavery in the United States when enslaved Black people were often denied the legal right to marry. Despite this, they created their own sacred rituals to honor their unions, and jumping the broom became a widely practiced ceremony. Many Black couples continue this tradition to celebrate their heritage and embrace new beginnings.
