Starting elementary school is a big milestone—for kids and parents. ❤️

If you’re new to Canada or your little one is starting elementary school, here are a few things that really helped us:

✅Nut-free lunches & snacks
Most schools are nut-free, so always check the ingredients before packing lunch.

✅Pack an extra pair of clothes
Spills, paint, muddy puddles, or little accidents happen more often than you think.

✅Label everything
Lunch box, water bottle, sweater, shoes… it makes lost items much easier to find.

✅Pack an extra pair of socks
Kids love puddles, wet grass, and snow. Dry socks can save the rest of the day.

✅Practice bathroom independence
Teachers can’t help inside the washroom. Practice wiping, flushing, washing hands, and getting dressed independently before school starts.

✅Be patient
Some children settle in quickly, while others need a little more time. Lots of love, encouragement, and reassurance make a big difference.

✅Connect with the teacher
Regular communication helps you understand classroom routines, friendships, and how your child is adjusting.

These little things may seem small, but they can make the first few weeks of school much smoother—for both you and your child.
