Friends, tomorrow night at 5 p.m., there is a special Council meeting at Town Hall.
It’s so important that all residents know what’s happening in our town. This is your community, and you deserve to be informed and involved in the process.
My family and I, as residents ourselves, are happy to share the information we have and not only with the other candidates, but with anyone who wants to understand what’s happening.
A lot of you are in the same boat as we are. We hear that there is trust, that PHAI is working for us, and that we shouldn’t be worried about the reactors coming.
But why shouldn’t we ask questions?
Trust is earned…… but before we can trust….as residents,move forward with confidence, we need answers, transparency, and reassurance that the problems are being addressed and resolved.
We’re all in this together. Let’s stay informed, ask questions, and make sure our voices are heard.

Here we go! The paperwork is finalized, and it’s time to get to work.

This October, municipalities across Ontario will choose the direction their communities will take. Here in Port Hope and Ward 2, that choice belongs to you.

Do we stay the same, or do we choose a fresh direction?

It’s your home. Your community. Your vote. And it’s time to make it count.

Leadership should show up. It should be accessible, accountable and easy to find. And in today’s economy, we need leadership focused on solving problems—not creating more of them.

I’m tired of seeing our community misrepresented. I’m tired of higher taxes without seeing the results our residents deserve.

Port Hope has incredible potential. But moving forward takes fresh ideas, honest leadership and the willingness to do the work.

Port Hope and Ward 2—the future of our municipality is in your hands.

Hi, I’m Ian West, and I’m running for Mayor of the Municipality of Port Hope.

I’m running because I believe leadership isn’t about having the longest résumé or the fanciest title — it’s about caring about your community, listening to the people who live here, and being willing to make decisions that move Port Hope forward.

I’ve spent my life building connections in this community, and I know what makes Port Hope special: the people. I want to bring a practical, straightforward approach to leadership — one that puts our community, our families, and the future of Port Hope first.

I’m not running to tell people what they want to hear. I’m running to listen, to ask the hard questions, and to work for the best possible future for our community.

It’s been an amazing birthday and fergs_carpin wins with the gift of laughter. Hard to believe 44 years ago today in the Port Hope hospital, this adventure all started! As life passes us by, we grow with more understand of ourselves, others and this world we are blessed to spend time on. Thanks for all the birthday love today friends!! You will never know how much all of your support over the years kept me going in the right direction. Never up, I hope you laugh half as hard as I did when I saw the pic, and there is big things to come. Trust me! It’s about to get awesome.

This is my favourite picture I have from growing up. Before I ever dreamed of being a fisherman… I just wanted to farm and drive big blue. Well my dream came true and they are some of the happiest times of my life. We all have a story, be sure to share yours.
