🚨 Heads up, neighbours! 🚨
Tomorrow, Thursday, August 13, Duchess Park Secondary School (747 Winnipeg St) will be hosting a planned Emergency Response Team training exercise for the Prince George RCMP from 1–5 p.m.
Here’s what you need to know:
➡️ During the live exercise, residents and businesses in the area can expect to see a large police presence (both uniformed and plainclothes officers) with various types of police vehicles parked on site.
➡️ Those in the area may hear pops, loud bangs, yelling and screaming.
➡️ We are advising the public in advance of this training, so they do not become alarmed at the police presence and the noise.
➡️ Signage will be posted around the venue for the duration of the training.
➡️ Please do not approach the venue or officers during the exercise, as it may interfere with the training.
“This training is being conducted to simulate an active threat situation and will be quite dynamic. This is a controlled training exercise, though we will be using live actors to enhance the realism of the situation. We are respectfully requesting that people do not approach the venue or the officers as it would interfere with the value of the training,” states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for Prince George RCMP.
Thank you to Prince George RCMP for keeping our community safe through valuable training like this. 🚔
