So I have been rather neglectful of my artist page this month but promise to change that after the new year. I have lots of artwork and design ideas flying around in my brain for this coming year and hope you will be able to follow me on that journey.

This new Christmas card is now available at the Ice House Gallery in Cow Bay. I created two variations of this design.

The first card says "It'll be a Crabby Christmas Without You" and the inside says "Have a Claw-some Coastal Christmas!"

As requested by my printer I created another version of this card. This one says "Have a Crabby Christmas!" and the inside says "And a Claw-some New Year!". lol

I liked it so much I have made both versions available to everyone. Both are available for $6.50 each.

“A Friendly Evening Chat?”

This artwork of an eagle and a raven is based on an actual event that occurred right outside our living room window. We heard all this loud raven chatter and this was our vision. It seemed as though the raven was giving the eagle hell and the eagle was taking it rather well although the look on its face said otherwise. We waited... thinking with one outreached claw the eagle could put an end to the raven’s complaining. Suddenly the Raven, perhaps sensing the end was near, flew off with the eagle looking on. Yup. Just another exciting afternoon on Red Dog Cliff!

"Once a week, every week, a ship leaves the harbour from this location. I watch the ship dock from our deck. It comes in very close to shore, stays 5 to 7 days, loads up and then leaves for ports unknown. I imagine myself on board every time. I always dreamed of travelling around the world. Have travelled some but it's never enough!"

"Haida Gwaii Beach Deck"

I have been going to Haida Gwaii since I first came to the North Coast in 1974. I call it "My Happy Place" because no matter how sad my situation – like after cancer treatment – I always come home happy and invigorated. This is the deck off the rustic cabin where I like to stay. I love to sit here reading a book or with my eyes closed smelling the salt air, listening to the sound of the waves and feeling the ocean breeze on my face. It reminds me how great life can be.
