The Cure
It’s been quite a while.
A long country mile.
Truth is, I’ve been out workin’
Nose to the grind,
Not that I mind,
But these days my wallet is hurtin’
Inflation it’s said,
Has left some for dead,
Me its left broken and bruised.
I still smile and wave,
And try to be brave,
But’d be nice to just hear some good news.
Pierre Poilievre,
Has the solution they says,
Its ol’ Justin’s quick resignation.
But truth if its told,
By those who are bold,
Says we’re in for some years of frustration.
The debt must be paid,
By the plumber or maid,
By taxing the fruit of their labour.
And all the big banks,
Will get their due thanks,
For playing their role as our saviour.
Of course we could not.
We all could just stop.
Refuse to go in to our station.
In ten days or less,
They would acquiest,
And forgive all the debt of the nation.
You doubt? What a bore!
It’s been done before!
Do you know nothing of history?
When many unite,
Stand firm and fight,
Freedom no longer is mystery.
Freedom I say,
From having to pay!
Yes, it’s been done before.
The peasants and serfs,
Who built homes out of turf,
They finally said ‘Never more.”
Canadian workers,
Potential berserkers,
The world waits now for its cue.
How does it feel,
To be under the heel,
Of one who won’t listen to you?
If you ask me… wait.
Don’t take the bait.
Work hard to win the election.
Go door to door,
Show all one time more,
Democracy is not an infection.
