I brought this guy indoors a couple of weeks ago, so far he likes this spot. The rest of the plants like this room as well so this may be a good winter spot.
Update: I bought this pot at Home Goods a few years ago. This solid green spider plant has been in this pot the entire time. I pulled it out and changed the soil this past spring.
Update #2: I’ve been asked what my secret is a few times so here’s my recipe. I change it up a bit when I find something new but this is my go to recipe.
I add the following to either Fox Farm or Coast of Maine potting soil. I use a chunky mix for just about everything.
Horticultural Activated Charcoal.
Organic Orchid Potting Bark.
Japanese Hyuga Pumice.
Forest Moss.
Perlite.
Sometimes I add Clay Pebbles (I get the inexpensive ones from the horticultural store, they are dark and misshaped).
I don’t use all of these fertilizers at once, I do mix in the dry worm castings when I plant using the liquids and/or the dry worm castings about once every 3 months.
Organic plant food with lobster, kelp & worm castings or Pure Worm Castings.
Fox Farm liquid plant food ( it’s made from earthworm castings & bat guano.
