Good news in the north with snowfall warnings and special weather statements across northeast Saskatchewan and northern Manitoba, "Significant snowfall is expected, 10 cm to as much as 20 to 25 cm" . More good news for skiers in Banff and Jasper as they could see up to 30 cm of snow in higher elevations. The actual towns might not get any snow according to EC but they do stress that parts of Highway 93 could see some of the heaviest snow. The bad news is the wind, along the foothills in southern Alberta there is going to be a be wind storm later today.
"Strong west winds gusting to 100 km/h are expected this afternoon and evening.
The strongest winds will occur near Waterton National Park.
Winds will weaken overnight..."

WIND WARNING Southern Alberta SNOWFALL WARNING Banff Jasper
Here are this morning's wind gust models from the hrrr and NAM Nest 6z and 12z runs which shows the maximum wind gust at Calgary to be 50 knots/92km/hr, Lethbridge 50 knots/92km/hr and Swift Current 48 knots/89km/hr. Southwest of Calgary, the foothills could reach 68 knots/126km/hr maximum between 4pm and midnight as it will intensify in the late afternoon and evening and spread out onto the prairies overnight and dissipate. Extremely strong southern Alberta wind potential for Thursday night. According to the latest Wind Gust model, maximum winds could reach 77knots / 142 km/hr that evening off the foothills in Montana. Lethbridge could see a maximum of 55 knots / 101 km/hr. Overnight the wind shifts to the east into southwest Saskatchewan, not nearly as high as the foothills but likely enough to warrant a wind warning. It will dissipate as it reaches southeast Saskatchewan, bringing in some very temporary warmth for Regina Friday morning. It will cool off Friday afternoon as it passes.
Note: This is from the NAM Nest, the other wind model, hrrr has the wind sticking to the foothills and having little effect on the prairies. So there is a chance it could be windy or it could be totally wrong, that is how the forecast models are getting it these days. Weather is not an exact science. Highly variable it is.

Rabbit Fur Data Wascana Park
Only 1 out of 9 rabbits were brown yesterday in Wascana Park as the trend continues, that holdout rabbit could be right as it looks very dry for at least the next few days. We will check out the Victoria Park rabbits later today as there seems to be a lot of conflicting data. Friday's forecast is 14 degrees above normal if it verifies here in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Lots of geese on Wascana Lake Saskatchewan today. Wind is west and warm slightly above normal. 😎
