My business journey continued✨...
Initially, I had hoped to use a print-on-demand service for Star Baby, so I wouldn’t need to invest money upfront in printing. However, things didn’t go as planned. After completing the book, I learned that print-on-demand isn’t an option for board books. This meant I had to search for a printer and commit to a significant upfront investment to order inventory.
I received printing quotes from China and the United States. I ultimately chose the U.S. printer because I preferred to work with a more local business and avoid the complications of overseas shipping, even though the international option was cheaper. I ordered a large quantity because I truly believed in my creation, but in hindsight, I probably should have started with a smaller order. Still, it is all part of the learning process.
