Just some of the onion jelly ready for gifting to my wonderful neighbors.

So over the weekend I bought a 10lbs bag of onions for $3.99. I mean we don't eat onions every day to warrent such a purchase but we can preserve some for later. After working all day I'm now making some "onion jelly" . Tomorrow will be chopping and freezing in small batches for later use. We will be freezing our skins and ends to make a soup stock at a later date. No wasting a good deal here!

Enjoying a few peaceful moments of writing before heading off to another work site this evening. While I put as much of my time into this page I still have that regular work grind to do. Building a page full of information, raising a family and working is definitely a plate full but it's an enjoyable plate full. Thank you everyone who follows along on this little adventure I've got happening. I appreciate every one of you!

Latest update on the wee tiny indoor garden! The peas are doing fantastic, that strawberry plant is definitely a fighter. It's been through the wringer for sure and still growing! Then we've got that celery that we are regrowing and just planted some yellow beans. We may be a little crude in design but it's working! No indoor greenhouse just a small window and a grow light. Making use of the small space in our wee tiny apartment.

I've been asked about my recipes alot lately. So I've decided to create a book that has them and so much more! What do you guys prefer, digital or paperback books? These books will contain recipes, preserving methods, year round growing techniques, foraging methods and ways to stretch what food you have to ensure nothing is going to waste. Please spam me with your thoughts on this.

Fresh made butternut squash alfredo sauce over ricotta and spinach stuffed ravioli with garlic toast. Sometimes the best sauces are the ones we make our selves.

Yet another great use for those unwanted bread ends. Today's kitchen adventures is making croutons from the bread ends that no one in the house seems to want to eat.

So after loosing the battle with those darn tree ninjas I lost all but one corn plant. I've since filled in that space with more tomatoes and peppers. Some spicy and some sweet. Here's hoping we can get a decent yield this year. Now to fight the battle of pesky rodents.
