On August 19, Sooke Radio hosted a live performance as part of our three part concert series in partnership with Cafe Vosino. During this performance, the artist used words and phrases that could be considered offensive and inflammatory. When this came to our attention during the performance, the artist was immediately informed that was not acceptable and agreed to continue without using that language.

We have learned from this event and in the future will better communicate our expectations for any event. We will also work to ensure that any future events will feature artists who are appropriate for the venue.

In the better safe than sorry category we're sad to say that we are cancelling the Dance for the Ages at the Fall Fair tonight.
With thunder already in the skies and lightning flashes happening it's a matter of ensuring that everybody stays okay.
We'll try and figure out how to do a makeup dance so keep those dance shoes ready.

We're starting at 7:00 tonight and this is up for grabs at the first Dance for the Ages at the fall fair. Last 15 minutes is a tap-out contest to a mashup of music from the 1950s through to today! It's free so come on down anytime from 7:00 till 9:00.
