This Friday, Sooke Radio will air Gord Phillip's performance at the Party on the Patio last year.

In a one hour special, we'll speak with Sooke musicians about Gord's impact on music in Sooke.

Whether you're a musician or not, we know Gord touched a lot of lives here. We'd like to include your thoughts about Gord.

Please send us a voice message to 778-676-4829. Include your name and story about Gord but please keep it to about 2-3 minutes.

Or if you prefer, please tell us your Gord story below and we'll try to include as many as we can.

The special will air at 5:30 right after Almost There here on sooke.live and will replay on Sunday at 10:30 am.

Everyone at Sooke Radio is very saddened to hear about the passing of Gord Phillips. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

From the very first moment Gord heard about the radio station he brought his gigantic enthusiasm to this endeavor.

When we asked him to play at the Party on the Patio last summer, the words were barely out before he gave a resounding yes! And on show night he brought that amazing voice and talent to put on a great performance.

Along with 9,000 other Sookies, we lost power that night but that didn't stop Gord. He gave us a great acoustic show and powered through with that wonderful smile and sense of humour.

Gord was the personification of community, his love for this town was evident in every moment. Sooke will miss him dearly.
