I discovered this on the Gallica website. The original was taken by Andres Salles. The caption read, St. John's 1889. Anyone have any idea what river. It is likely the Waterford river or Rennie's. Enhanced and colourized by The Photo Mender

View from Signal Hill 1975. It caught my attention because the caption read "Marconi Hill." The original was taken by a boy Scout group from North Carolina. In the summer of 1975, the 14th World Scout Jamboree was held in Lillehammer, Norway. St. John's and Gander of course, served as a common refueling stop, layover location, or starting point for transatlantic group travel.

I took this photo of flooding at Quidi Vidi circa 1985. I think the city have since made some repairs to prevent this from happening again.
